Default How much improvement will Moton Clubsports provide

I am seriously considering swapping the GT3 coil overs to Moton Clubsports. How much of a difference (including the stiffer springs) will this give me. I have already upgraded the suspension with the RSS adjustable toe steer, monoball lower control arm bushings, thrust arm bushings, and adjustable rear links (dog bones). I am running Hoosier R6s and will be moving to slicks next.

As a point of reference, I am running sub 1:37 laps at Road Atlanta.

What kinds of improvements can I expect from the $$ upgrade to the Clubsports if I go that route?

That's a nearly impossible question to answer with any accuracy whatsoever.

Bryan,

I'm not asking how many 1/10th I will improve. It is more of a qualitative question. What kind of improvements do you get from the change? Why spend the money. What does it get you?

I found a significant improvement in handling and overall capability. I did drive the car with Koni coil overs for 5 years before making the jump. I hear the JRZ's are another great option.

007, I can't wait that long...

Have fun this weekend. Let me know how the club racing school goes. I registered for the next one today. Dave, Derek and I will be in it together. Z

Zmann, GT3 street or Cup?

I had the opportunity to drive Seth's GT3 street with Motons and RA1's at Road Atlanta a couple of years ago. On that car, they were sublime (and this was before the repave) because they really did a better job of keeping more of the contact patches on the track more of the time, especially in transitions where the stock GT3 suspension is not at its best. It was incredibly confidence inspiring, and led to seeing an indicated 167 right before braking into T10a, and a bunch of 34's and 35's in light traffic, w/o seats or harnesses.

If you have the funds, I highly recommend it.

007, go back to changing diapers and the leave the big boy talk to the fast guys on the track.

Veloce, it is a street 3. Running 34s and 35s at RA is fast and 165 mph into 10a in a GT3 is beyond what I can get my car to do. Matting it from 7 to 10 I can get to 160 at best.

Thanks for the feedback on the Motons. Were you on Clubsports or Motorsports?

Again, this was Seth's car, not mine. Clubsports. And again, it was an INDICATED speed on the digital readout, not sure the variance in those cars.

Bryan, when I saw that, frankly, in a $100K car that (a) I did not own, (b) had no cage, and (c) had no race seats or harnesses, I became uncormfortable with the speed, and dialed it back. When I took Chad996 here for a ride, I made sure I never saw above an INDICATED 160, and usually 155 for safety.

Point is, the car was SO planted everywhere, on the old pavement, on RA1's....
