Default Hoosier HT 100's

Anyone know much about these? I rode (not drove) with a guy recently in a 2007 GT3 and he told me he had the latest Hoosier's on, said they were only available through Hoosier.
I was pretty sure he said they were HT 100's but never got a look at the sidewalls. The grip was amazing compared to any feel I have ever had in a car with MPSC tires. Any info appreciated.

hoosier sells racing slicks in an R80 and R100 compounds (R80 softer, R100 = harder)

possible he was saying HT100 => (HT=Hoosier Tire) (100=harder)

Thanks. That must be it. Didn't really see a size on the Hoosier chart that a GT3would run in the 100 compound (up front anyways) but I have a call in to them to help me understand their chart and recommendations better.
Currently I run the MPSC's and see R6's are priced about the same. Not sure about full Hoosier slicks at all.
What I can say is the difference in grip between my car and the one I ran in was enormous. This was a quantum leap in handling, another league entirely.

Anyone want to chime in about how many run days at DE's you might expect on MPSC vs R6 Hoosier's vs slicks even??
I think I get about a dozen days on MPSC's give or take.

My PCA region DE's are on a concrete airstrip, so it's really abrasive stuff out there. You can go through a set of R6's on a weekend, if you don't watch it! What I've been doing is running Sumitomo's HTR Z II's for practice runs, R6's for timing. That way the R6's last quite a bit more (about 6 events or so).
I've also heard very good comments on Kumho's Ecsta XS's. Grassroots Motorsports did a test on them in their last issue, and they had the top times compared to other brands (Falken, Bridgestone, Yoko's, etc).
If you go with the R6's wear should be similar to MPSC's.

- hoosier r6 grip is much better than mpsc (if it was your first time that is how you feel for sure)
- hoosier r80/r100 is equivalent to a Mich Slick which is a similar step up again (go get a ride in a cupcar and you will understand)

- how fast do you want to spend?
- there is no magic, they are stickier, they wear faster

Got a set of 250/650 and 305/645 18 for the GT2 will try them this weekend @ Sebring. Both 100 compound. When we ordered them from Jeff Spears @ Hoosier he said the 80 compound fronts were UA but the 100's would be fine.

Interesting...I ran 80s at the WGI club race in that size.

Really, after thinking about it more, the point is that I had no idea of the incredible difference between MPSC and slicks, in fact at the time of the ride I thought the car just had R6's on. So I was trying to figure out what tire this guy actually had.
I'm not now shopping for slicks for DE's. Never say never, though
What that session gave me was a bit of a taste of what a better gripping tire than the MPSC could feel like.
Everyone wants their car to handle and everyone wants to go fast. With MPSC's my car can at times feel edgy and I very much respect the fact they need to be in the temp band for grip. Too hot or too cool and the edginess extends.
In the car I rode in I can only define the ride as absolutely on a rail. The grip through the corner was rediculous. So, from that perspective I am very intrigued about at least runnning R6's.
So....I get 12 days on MPSC's. You get how many DE days on R6's?
