That was awesome. Really aggressive, hard-nosed racing. Nice to be doing that in someone else's car.

As Bryan pointed out, in Koni we run right side nets without halo seats.

I was at this race and it was pretty intense. Andy had a great drive too.

Depends on your definition of "torque". If it is at the rear wheels, true, if it is at the flywheel, no, BUT HP always wins races, because it will tell you, precicely what will be at the ground as far as force!
Hp determines force at the ground at any vehicle speed.

Im sorry, I just cant help myself sometimes. VR, please forgive me

BTW, did you notice who won those races???? Mustang with BIG torque and huge HP, or little tiny 6 banger 3.2 and 3.6 liter BMW and porsches with less hp and near half the torque. (flwheel)
You tell me. Did hp or Torque win races this Watkins Glen race?

Yes I noticed who won.

It was the BEST DRIVERS.

Geezus, spartacus: LET IT GO.

Larry, agreed.

Sure it works, have you seen an open wheeler lately? They're just... you know... smaller.

A right-side net, from what I understand, actually does the job of a halo seat in a side hit in addition to providing additional protection in a more offset hit. Koni Challenge (and I assume Rolex) now requires right and left side head/shoulder nets in addition to a standard window net. Halo seats are a real pain in the **** IMO, especially if you're trying to do quick driver changes with HANS, helmet, etc. into and out of cars with the newer A-pillar gussets and support bars that are becoming the norm (and a FIA requirement for door openings of a certain size).

All of that said, if you are running a halo seat, I would definitely invest in a right side net. The halo works fine in a 90 degree crash, but you'll want the net to guide your head and shoulders back into the seat in a frontal offset crash rather than letting your head rebound outside of the halo as I've seen happen in crash test videos.
I simply (and perhaps naively) assumed that in a sedan, a HALO (full containment) seat (Lajoie or equivalent) would be a standard choice.

Please!!!!

There has been PLENTY of times lesser drivers have beaten Hand or Auberlin in the same car. Not often, and thats the difference of the top drivers and the rest.

anyway, they wouldnt have won in the mustangs either. Not at that track, on that day.

The best driver did win the race, and it wasn't Hand or Auberlen, it was Lally.
