My wife's taking the '24 to school this weekend... Can anyone recommend a good pressure (cold or hot) for the Hankook Ventus'ses that she'll be running? Not all that new, of course, just school tires... All else fails, I'd probably put 'em at R6 pressures plus 4psi to be safe... that'd be like 34 cold... I'm sure she won't be getting them all that hot right away (though it'll be reasonably warm, high of 75-ish and cloudy).
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Which Ventus tire?
I start my V214 at 25 lbs cold.

Arrgh... I was afraid someone was gonna ask that Q! ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I shall have to check. 25cold, though - wow, pretty low? How much does your car weigh, and what's your hot pressure?

If you mean Ventus RS2, I just did some track days and I targetted 40-42# hot. That translated to about 36-37# cold. The good news is that the tires do not seem overly sensitive to small pressure variations. I didn't use a pyrometer but the scuffing seemed dead on, and the wear was even (I'm running -2.7 deg. camber in front). The track was fairly cool (65 degrees and partly cloudy), so I'd probably drop a few lbs. in warmer weather.
I didn't have enough sessions to fiddle with pressures, and the car worked extremely well at these pressures. I didn't want to mess it up! When measuring pressures after a run, the rears were actually picking up one lb. more pressure (heat) than the fronts.
PS: My tires were shaved to half tread depth.

hi.
i ran the Z214 C51 last year, size 225-50-16 on a fwd car; weight = 2765 with driver. i started the fronts at 27psi, and the rears at 31psi cold. target hot pressures were 37psi all around.
good luck!

Thanks... I've tried to find more identification on the sidewalls, but all they seem to say is Ventus.
I will mention that they are a number of years old - strictly for school and beginner use. Guess we'll aim for around 40 hot, see where that takes us.

V, on the Frankencar those tires worked best at 34 hot (that's for the Z214)
