Default WGI Race..Sprints vs Enduro

I have read all of the threads and here is my thought process that I used to come up with the Four Sprint Weekend.
1. We all come to an event to race, so the more races the more fun.
2. The Glen Enduro attendance ( paid entrants) is roughly 70 % of the
Sprint paid attendance..WHY? Is it people do not want to race and go
home early...or is 90 minutes too long. We do not charge for the
second endro driver..but many do not share their cars.
The Four Sprint format is as follows:
Two sprints on Saturday and Two on Sunday with a POINTS System
used to determine the class winner. Best three out four races count to
the point total. 10 for first, 8 for second, 6 for third and so on...
We will run 16 races this weekend. Each race has an allotted time of 45 minutes on the schedule, which usually means at least 35 minutes of racing.
NOW..if no one wants this format, we will go back to the Eight Sprint Saturday and the Three Enduro Sunday..which is easier for me...I just thought people would like to try some thing new.

Pete, thanks for your explanation. I was to be a guest on your region from Texas, co-driving in the Enduro on my absolute favorite track in the United States. Regretfully, that will not happen now.

Pete,

Thanks for the stated rationale.

I certainly appreciate all of the hard work that you do. And I have no doubt that is the feeling of all of the Club Racers.

But for all of the stated reasons in the two posts that were posted last year as well as for some of the reasons expressed in the various posts of this year, I would like to see the enduro remain.

John

I vote for the enduro.

Appreciate your efforts to mix things up for PCA racers. Your pushing for change has helped leave the day of the 1 sprint race -- a weekend, nothing but a distant memory.

I still like Glen's (and my wife's) idea: run the Enduro on Saturday, and sprints on Sunday.

Pete,

Do you have a date by which you'll make a final decision? I'd really like to do the Glen race, and if we do an enduro, I'll certainly be there. If there's no enduro, I'll likely switch around my schedule and go to Mid-Ohio instead. Given that I have to schedule time off of work and such, I'm wondering if there's a date by which I should stop hoping for an enduro at Watkins Glen.

Pete, thanks for all of your efforts in progressing both the DE program and the Zone driving events. I certainly understand the rationale for doing more sprint races and having a points system, however, I still prefer the enduro due to the increased complexity for the driver.

Pete, I want to say thank you for all your hard work and thought to make this work. I vote to keep the enduro but I will be there either way. Will there be a different fee for the 4 Sprint format vs. the Sprint / Enduro fee?
