Default Caught on Camera

Seeing the stop action photos of Jack's crash in the other thread got me to thinking about what other great sequences have been captured by the track photographer.

I'll start. Lost the lower radiator hose going into T1 at Road Atlanta last year. I also have this on tape from my incar video but think the photos are great. In the end, no harm no foul, lucky for me. In the second pic you can see the water pouring from the front end. Those racers behind me were glad that I did not have any antifreeze in the car!

I remember seeing a great sequence a few months ago of a pretty Fiat 124 spyder hitting a wall...

The Mid-Ohio airborne DB9 is still one of the spookiest pics I've ever seen.

You almost don't even need to see the other pics in the sequence.

Unbelievably, they were able to repair the car quickly and get it out in time for qualifying.

On the 5A 5B sequence at Mosport, I am surprised to see someone photographing from that angle, that's a hike to get down there.

It's not too bad. You can drive around the outside of the track to the exit of T3 and hike it up to 5. I typically sit on the outside of 5 when I go to races there.

who would think that T2 would even need a cage! Man, that was amazing. thank gosh for sand traps! (NOT). Sand traps and ski jumps like the one that Joey Hand took, need to be altered a little! at most tracks. I dont know what set off the T2 crash but i bet it was just a matter of a little sideways slide before he hit the sand trap. a little more pavement and he probably could have driven away.

The T2 crash was this past summer, driver was just fine - he's a local guy from up here, we do use the same cage builder Oh, yeah, mine was the car that got t-boned by a Volvo at Road Atlanta last fall... and the Volvo lost! Sadly, no pics for that one - vid is on my Youtube account.

I'm gonna be the first to post the oblig Spec Pinata series; this is my boss having a wheel come apart on him. What caused the wheel to fail? It's a Spec Pinata - what's your guess?

Another one; this is a mullethead driving like you'd expect (he's almost as fast as an ITA car around our track! LOL):

Another fun one - old, fast car, new driver!

I've been over and over the data but I can't figure out where I lost the time...
