You GOTTA see this...
So today we had a 1998 Honda Prelude in the shop and the customer told one of my service advisors that his car "was not braking well and was pulling to the left". We opened an RO and said we would see what we could find.
Well, it was pretty obvious what the problem was (see pics). The customer was still using the ORIGINAL pads and discs from 11 years ago and over 100,000 miles!
There was NO material left on the outside right disc; it was worn down to the vents in the disc!
We did not cover it under warranty...

It makes you wonder how these people can even get a license to drive. I think you should replace the muffler bearings while the car is in the shop and I am SURE the blinker fluid has been neglected!

Hmmmmm.......maybe he's on to a new form of brake cooling? Who needs those pesky ducts that get ripped off during off-track excursions, when you can just go ahead and open up the vanes??
Wonder if the oil in the crankcase is the consistency of bananas?
Unbelievable!

My mom got 100k out of a set of pads and rotors on her E36 328i, and when we replaced them there was still material left. What makes it even worse is my dad was well aware of this (runs a Porsche/BMW shop) and wanted to see how long she could go on one set.....

Don't laugh, he complained that his motor was consuming oil...he admited later that he has not changed the oil since 2006.
There is an estimate of nearly $10,000 in mechanical repairs!! He does not want to buy a new car, I asked. Better for us that he fixes it!
