I know that car and its selling owner. I have ridden right seat with him. Very nicely prepared car, well-handling, strong.

I have ridden in that car with each of its last three owners. It is one of the best handling 944/968s I have ever been in (and that's a lot of cars). The guy who built it spared no expense, and I suspect the current owner has taken very good care of it. He broke the motor at Hallett last year, and it looks like RUF fixed it. If you are serious about the car, have RUF give you the owner's number. He's a straight shooter, and that looks like a fair price.

You have to love the standard equipment sheet. Imagine sitting at grid out with the ac running, listening to your favorite cassette while gripping the leather covered steering wheel. Launch on to the first straight away and flip on the cruise control.

Fair amount of car for the money and another example of the pennys on the dollar return when converting a car for track use.

Pennies on the dollar is right. That's close to getting the 968 for free and paying less than the price of the mods. I should have waited another 12 months to get the track car!!

Last owner is a great guy. He and I were raceport-mates at Hallett when the motor decided to head south. Car is awesome for a water-pumper!

That has got to add thousands to the asking price.....and that's before anything is autographed.

Wow! Perhaps I should look into this myself!

JF, I wouldn't step in front of you, but I found this other opinion on the car that you might take into consideration

Seriously, if I head over there to check it out, I'd be happy to collect additional info for you as well. Just pm me.

WOW. That looks like a smoking deal to me and a great class to race in in both PCA and NASA.

I spoke to Bob the shop manager at Ruf about the 968, although they have maintained the car for the last 3 years they did not complete the track mods. He said the car was solid and free on any major accident damage, he also noted in addition to the website details:

Engine was rebuilt/replaced in 11/08 with a used stock short block with 50k miles on it.

Stock Flywheel.

No LSD, contrary the the description on the website.

Spherical bushings throughout the suspension

Front Sway Bar is M030 none adjustable, rear is adjustable.

Bolt in roll cage without door bar on driver's side.

Harness and window net expired.
