My car has a close ratio gear box and tops out at 155mph - which happens pretty quick. You can watch me wave "bye-bye" to Tom (yellow turbo) and Lindsey (silver 997 GT3) as they check out on me on their way to 175+ top speed.
So I could hang with you if you give me a head start and we skip the infield.

Bummed we didn't get any clear track on Sunday. I just wasn't comfortable running that car in the wet on Hoosiers.
mine was the same and I can believe the "mustang" time or any time better than mine because as I came off NASCAR 4 I coasted to the turn one brake zone cause I was already going so fast. a couple extra seconds on the gas in my car and I would be near 190 in the front straight. I think breaking a 2 min would be very possible. Will try again with the Audi club in December!!

2 messy laps with shuffle steer and missing a few pedal placements for heelntoe:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTJfyIW4KMo I was trying a bit too hard, still getting used to the car and with a noisy car in front it throws me off a bit.

2:01?!?!?! Damn! Who was pedaling that car around at 2:01? Much respect for that lap time! 2:03.5 was my fast lap, with a bunch of 2:04's.
Tell us some more about that Mustang!
I did see a Mustang hit about 160, I could hardly get by, but 2:01?? Must not have been in SuperSolo, cause while doing 2:07's all I saw streaking by was bumble bee bright yellow/black in silent-wisper mode - silver/black - yellow/blue on let-me-make-your-ears-bleed mode and I don't think they were Mustangs..

Hey guys, what a great weekend. We all came down from B'ham. The Mustang is my brothers and he was kind enough to let me drive it. Our home track is Barbers so this track is a little bit different than what we are used to. We were up from all you Porsche guys and I hope you didn't see us drooling over your cars I ran the car in the insructor group and got the car to do a 2:01. Trackmate recorded a 182.3mph going down the front. We have video of the cars rev light on in 5th gear(only has a 5 speed TKO) in turn 4 and all the way down the front straight untill I brake at the 2 marker. Car is fast but a handfull to drive but a lot of fun. I also drove his c6 corvette with the z06 body parts to accomodate the larger wheels and tires. I was able to manage a 2:05.1 at a top speed of 168,not to bad for an Ls3. I love the sound of the flat 6 and had an opportunity to drive a GT3rs at Barbers and loved it. Any of yall coming with PBOC in a few weeks? If so look us up we will be on the second level as you turn right. Come by and see us.

Default Here is a video from the Boxster

Here is a video clip of me working through a 911, Turbo, & vette using momentum and apex speed. I don't have the HP that Terry, Tom, and Erik have but its good stuff. Some of the guys would come up to me after a session and say I saw a Boxster behind me and thought no worries, then beeerrrrrnnnnn there you went, WTF!

I had to edit out the long run during the banking (b/c I don't know how to compress video to keep it under utube's size requirements), but this is all 1 1/2 laps.

Geez, you think?! 2:01 very impressive. Post the video.
My 01 Mustang GT feels like it will desintergrate at 145Mph = Vmax. My brother drove it +/- 2:15's with a stock 4.6L 2V motor, but with brakes and suspension.
What have you done to that car to go that fast AND be able to brake at the 2 marker??

No kidding... I watched your clip when you pass Erik and thought that thing pulls like a freight train, awesome to listen those quick shifts...

Damn that Daytona is awesome! I'm bummed that I missed the fun.

The cars powerplant is an aluminum 351 block bored and stroked to 438c.i. with a solid roller cam. I don't know all of the specs but it was desighned to run on pump gas. On the dyno it made 611rwhp and 580rwtq @ 7200rpm. We backed off the rev limiter to 6800. The diff is a live axle with a 3.73 gearing not good for high speeds. The brakes are stoptechs 4piston with cobolt pads in front and stock brakes in back. The car weight with me in it and half a tank of fuel is 3200 and some change. Not to bad for a Faimont

David,

Me and Bob (The guy in the blue suit, your red car in the background) are coming to Barber in two weeks. Bob's going to race his 996 and I'm going to play the part of his pit-b*tch. We could use some local advice to tackling Barber.
