I was there today. The Peugeot is sick. Like Darth Vader on wheels. Fast too. 192 mph on the back straight. I sat with an an Acura tech who had a gun.
Audis were high 180's and the Spiders pretty close. The Judd was also quick while the Mazda was weaksauce at about 176.
Apologies for the iPhone photos:

Oh, and I did secure a Porscheplatz spot. I got pole position for the bano (ideal given the food on tap at RA).
And what a day- look at that sky.

Not a ****ter until used as such. No one had up to that point, so just a very tiny no bedroom/ one bathroom house. Actually as you can see a duplex; financed by one of the new very sub-prime, total non-recourse mortgages (no down payment and no payments for life- courtesy US Treasury).
Spoke to SW. Hope so. because stock chip + LWF + aggressive cams = damn, stalled again. But dropping the wideband sensor was the fix. You can take a bow ( I mean it).
Call me when it shows up and I'll stall my way up there.

So do I have this right....$40 for the infield parking pass and $25 for PorschePlatz tickets? Two years ago the same thing was $15 total. PorschePlatz was free. Now it's $65 for the privilege of parking on a hilly, unlevel parking lot and burning my clutch on the way in/out. Thanks but no thanks....

It is crazy (and cool!) that already in the first practice 11 cars have broken the track record set last year:
McNISH SHOWS HIS STUFF EARLY AT ROAD ATLANTA
Audi Sport North America's Allan McNish made himself welcome back in the American Le Mans Series on Thursday morning with the fastest time in Thursday's first official practice for Petit Le Mans powered by the Totally New MAZDA6 at Road Atlanta. McNish turned a lap of 1:07.446 (135.575 mph) in the diesel-powered Audi R10 TDI that he will share with fellow defending race-winner Dindo Capello and Emanuele Pirro.
McNish, a three-time winner at Petit Le Mans, is racing in his first American Le Mans Series race since an LMP1 victory at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. The Scot was 0.236 seconds better than Penske Racing's Timo Bernhard in one of the team's Porsche RS Spyders, the leading LMP2 entry, that he will drive with Romain Dumas.
Peugeot Sport's Peugeot 908 HDi, another diesel-powered prototype, was third overall and second in LMP1 at 1:07.695 (135.076 mph). Nic Minassian, Stephane Sarrazin and Christian Klien will drive the Peugeot in its second Series appearance this season.
Team LNT's Ginetta-Zytek 07S of Danny Watts and Olivier Pla sat third in P1 and fourth overall at 1:08.047 (134.378 mph).
De Ferran Motorsports was the leading Acura ARX-01b with the entry of Gil de Ferran, Simon Pagenaud and Scott Dixon second in class at 1:08.287 (133.905 mph). They were 0.123 seconds quicker than Andretti Green Racing's Acura of Franck Montagny, Marco Andretti and Tony Kanaan.
The top 11 cars were under Marco Werner's track record of 1:08.906 set in qualifying last year.
In GT1, Oliver Gavin put Corvette Racing's No. 4 Corvette C6.R on top in class with a lap of 1:16.337 (119.772 mph). Gavin will drive with Olivier Beretta and Max Papis as the trio shoots for their second straight class victory. Gavin was just 0.056 seconds quicker than the sister car of Johnny O'Connell, Jan Magnussen and Ron Fellows.
Dirk Werner went quickest in GT2 for Farnbacher Loles Racing in its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Werner, who will drive with Bryce Miller and Joerg Hardt, turned a lap of 1:19.849 (114.516 mph) for a 0.143-second gap over Tafel Racing's Ferrari F430 GT of Dirk Mueller and Dominik Farnbacher. Next up was Risi Competizione's Ferrari of Jaime Melo and Mika Salo at 1:20.158 (114.075 mph).
The next practice for the American Le Mans Series is at 3:05 p.m. today.
