Unless the teams bring their own fuel, the race may have to be shortened to a 30 min sprint.

But I went out today at 8am and got lucky. Went by the same station at 10am and it was closed again.
I think I saw Mel Gibson drive by.

I'm sure the teams buy their own gas and bring it.

But the rental cars and driving over an hour from the airport and back and forth to the track and such may mean some drivers have to ride bikes to the track.

This is rediculous, people are fighting at the gas stations, I almost got in one myself from people trying to skip the long lines.

I'm driving up from Tampa, guess I need to think about some extra fuel storage capacity to insure I don't ruin into any problems.

How far south on I-75 does the fuel shortage go?

Wouldn't want to fight you, Dez. Especially after last year at T12.

You'll be there, right?

What happened at T12? I completely forgot. Trying to decide If I'm going to watch on TV or in person. Will likey make the Speed GT race and walk the paddock on friday for sure.

You guys give me a holler when you get in town.

Edit: Oh I remember now, the security guard that took his job too seriously and couldnt just ask for us to leave when there was no indication we couldnt be wehre we were and then followed us around harrasing us. Yeah, I dont get riled up often but that guy really made me mad......

Not far, my mother in law lives in mcdonough which is ony about 30 miles south of the city and they have plenty of gas. It's odd that the south part of the city can get gas and anywhere north is a barren war zone.

This might be the first time I pre-buy rental car gas if they don't get this sorted out by next weekend.
I'm sure the rental car places aren't taking this opportunity to gouge anyone, are they?

Yeah. I think my Dad was going to call you tomorrow or early this week to catch up. Pretty much same as last year, be there Thursday night and all day Friday, watch start of the race etc head back home to Knoxville. We also don't have any premium gas here in Knoxville. My Mom filled up the QX56 with regular LOL. Don't know where we're going to find premium for the M5. Oh, Deon and Kahnh are up for dinner Thursday, or Friday night I believe. See ya soon!

If I am not mistaken, VP race fuels supply the ALMS series...so I am sure that VP will have Plenty of gas on hand....

I'll be with the Koni race in VIR, but this should be an awesome race. Good luck in the support race Seth!

I'll be at VIR too, qualifying on Saturday. Maybe I can watch some of the race from my room at the track, it should be awesome. I hope my co-drivers who are racing at the Petit will do well and have some energy left for Sunday at VIR!

On gasoline:
Apparently the farther you get out of Atlanta the more plentiful gas is. So as you approach Braselton, fill 'er up. That said I got gas today in town after waiting for all of 5 mins. I think things are getting better. That said; no premium.

Has anyone rec'd Porscheplatz confirmation?
