For our cars (996's) the track records are in the 2:25s. Your times are great. Anything under 2:35 is awesome in a track/daily 996 on R comps. 2:35 is about 7% off the record pace. And, assuming that the record pace is a class benchmark, that means you are getting about 94% out of your car running 2:33s. I say that's pretty good for a 320HP C4-cab

FWIW, the Cayman S is a class above us and should be driving in the 2:22-2:23s (as race prepped; sub 2:30s in DE) and the overall track record is 2:13 and change.

Also, to give you some idea about the difference in groups, greens are running in the mid 3:10, with blues running around 2:50. Fast Yellow and virtually all in white pull that down to the sub 2:35 range. Red runs the same times as blue.

where can I look these figures up? I'm curious to see how fast Jason Saini is around the 3.1 in my car

I doubt he's raced it on the 3.1, probably only member day stuff, so those times won't ever make it up online. The AMB transponder website is http://www.mylaps.com/ . If I had to guess I'd say 2:28'ish.

that's probably a bit slow, otherwise that would be better for my results than I thought...after getting some more in-car instruction @ the mx5 skip school I'm aiming below 2:29.5 next time I'm out in that config. not bad for a rice rocket

It's called "courtesy" (you should look this word up) when I see someone at full bore in my mirrors & I am on a cool down.

Don't you have to get the car hot before you qualify for cool down? I mean, 6 consecutive "cool down" laps is a bit much. People start to wonder after the first 3.

Yo, it's Gladwill with an 'i', not an 'e'. At least spell the guy's name right...

And you might think it's vacation, but he's out in CA for training this week. Mandatory stuff for all the guys at the dealership. He might be sleeping through it, but they're picking up some really cool stuff with the direct injection and PDK stuff. No more intermediate shaft.

Congrats. But I spent all my subscription money on Modified Cheerleaders and Exotics.

And there's Noby, obsessed with what he always refers to as the "intermediate shaft".

Not that there is anything wrong with that.
