Mark, hope I helped.

George, she has always had your wife's good looks.

Toby, yes I have driven Harris Hill, and have already done some private coaching there, in both directions. Maybe you can ask Coastal Bend Region if they'd allow you to bring a coach (since it is a non-instructed event)?

Well, that's because you're going about it all wrong. Next time, use the 993 as your golf cart!

Dave, I'll check with the Coastal Bend folks. Since my family is in San Antonio as is my college freshman, they might come up to watch. I'll let you know.

BTW, what forms of payment are acceptable? Guns? grenades? CIWS?

Crap! I'm afraid of that car too!!

G.

Then be ready to hear this on your way to the store: "Dad, you missed the apex at that last turn signal. But good heel/toe".

Real men number all the corners in their neighborhood, with the driveway exit as Turn 1.

Mine is a downhill, off camber 90-degree turn. Track out is the 4th post on the neighbor's fence.

Nice rides they have there in Plano!

Aren't those cars the ones they use for the Standard Insurance ads here on TV?

Insurance won't cover the track vehicle.

No more than me kimo sabe! Being out of the car since April really showed. Just hope I can avoid becoming the "rolling chicane" at Hallett in October.

"Don't let G fool you, he's mega-fast (or is that smegma fast - whatever). He has a couple of track records. In his 993, he has 2 of the MSR 3.1 records.

For our cars (996's) the track records are in the 2:25s. Your times are great. Anything under 2:35 is awesome in a track/daily 996 on R comps. 2:35 is about 7% off the record pace. And, assuming that the record pace is a class benchmark, that means you are getting about 94% out of your car running 2:33s. I say that's pretty good for a 320HP C4-cab

FWIW, the Cayman S is a class above us and should be driving in the 2:22-2:23s (as race prepped; sub 2:30s in DE) and the overall track record is 2:13 and change.

Also, to give you some idea about the difference in groups, greens are running in the mid 3:10, with blues running around 2:50. Fast Yellow and virtually all in white pull that down to the sub 2:35 range. Red runs the same times as blue."
________________________________________________________________________ ________
-In PCA Club Racing beginning this year, the 996's are split between two classes- H and I. The H class are the 3.4 liter 996s which run in the same class as the Cayman S. The 3.6 996s run in the higher I class along with the 993 RSCS.

A Cayman S with equal race prep(suspension, Tires, etc.) and comparable driver shouldn't beat a 3.6 996 around MSR, based on what I have seen, even thought the mid-engined car (I have one as well as a 911) handles well.
