Default TWS - July 26 & 27 / Anybody going?

I am starting to show withdrawal symptoms and signed up for the TWS event last weekend of the month, albeit Saturday only.

Is anyone going?

Too hot for me, Joost. On the bright side, garages will be plentiful and rungroups will be small. You'll get lots of track time if your car doesn't blow up.

Like the above, good luck NOT bursting into flames! Of course I say that... I was instructing out there at the LSR event Sept 9-10 2000 or 2001 (I can't remember which) and it was 105 or 106 out there! It was hotter here in Austin...in fact the Tuesday following we set the record for HIGHEST TEMP ever recorded in Austin for ANY DAY at 112!!! YEOW!

I was BURNING up and I was not even driving...just instructing!

I'm out. Too far to drive just to suffer from heat stroke. I can find ways to do that locally...

Although, I will say that the June 28 event wasn't as hot as I expected. But I would expect the end of July event to be about 5-10 degrees hotter. On the plus side, you'll probably have the track to yourself. Maybe they'll let you run with the windows up and the a/c on.

I am talking serious signs of withdrawal here...

I guess that foregoing a trackday because of 95+ degree weather, is like refusing a bj in a (private) sauna.

Joost,

June was brutal. If you do go get some salt tabs from the CVS or whatever pharmacy as drinking straight water is going to upset your electrolite level. Beware that MSC has had some fairly interesting offs during their last couple of events.

I guess this event is for the brave only.

VR: My heterosexual mind did indeed not think of the "Senator Craig option". I am glad you brought up the point and agree that under those circumstances I'd rather stay home too.

Bob,

I am actually more concerned about my engine overheating than my electrolyte levels. Hopefully I get a chance to install that 3rd radiator before the event.

On a different note: Does TWS allow passengers for non-intructors during their events?

Joost
