Default Speed Secrets Coaching

For my last two events at Watkins Glen (Hooked on Driving and Cups and Saucers), I've worked with Speed Secret Coach, Scott Leder.

My issues were similar to many of you:
I brake too soon and get back on throttle too late

Words cannot describe the difference professional coaching can make. After doing this for over ten years, Scott made me a "quicker Rick". Whatever I've learned from Scott, will be passed along to my students.

Too many of us, not matter what level we are or think we are, have not had anyone in the right seat for way too long. I know that Rennsport in Canada does this for all run groups, and other regions should follow their example.

Given the opportunity, consider Scott or anyone else from Speed Secrets for professional coaching or any other PCA instructor for a ride along for their help.

Remember: "Perfect Practice make Practice perfect"

Rick

PS: I got the above from Scott

It is great to hear someone share there experience. Scott has a wonderful temperment and can be very helpful. I think almost anyone can benifit from having an objective critique of there driving

As I said, this is the second time I've worked with Scott and I couldn't asked for a better coach. In his own quiet, methodical way, he has helped me become a better driver, and a better instructor because of it. Skills learned from Scott will be shared with my students. Too many of us have not had any ride along with us to critique our driving. We fall into bad habits, and continue to practice those same bad habits. I'm looking forward to going out with him at Thunderbolt and Lightning this summer.

Interesting observation at Cups and Saucers that most of the drivers who used Speed Secret coaches were instructors and not "advanced drivers"

That is interesting - could it be we already tapped into the volunteer instructing of our fellow instructors and decided to spend some $ on pro instruction?
I know that I get a ton of help from fellow instructors, but wanted to try the pro instruction for a different slant on things.
Both have been a big help to me.

My thoughts were that instructors know all too well that they don't know everything about driving and never will. Some "advanced students" don't know that yet.
I'm hoping to go out again with Scott at Millville for him to show me the track.

Or maybe one "advanced student" will go out with you and Rick B. pick your brains and then really be prepared to hire a pro coach...........

At the Glen with C&S, I took out two "students" and gave them the wisdom that I learned from Scott of Speed Secrets.
Paolo, when do we meet up again?

Generally true. Some instructors feel this way as well, however...
