My memory is getting bad as I age so I am probably wrong but I was at the Glen when Francois bought it just past turn one. Was it practice on Saturday? Might have been the year before Konig's demise? Think he hit something causing the car to flip and it landed landing atop the barrier right at the cockpit.

I wasn't there, but what I think happened was that he lost control on the uphill to the esses, the car turning left into the armco and tangling up in it. It was the year after he won this same race.

Just found it on google - Cevert was killed Oct 73, Konig Oct 74. Cevert was killed in qualifying, hit the inside armco, went across the track, landed upside down on the armco in the esses.....you know the rest.
Enough of these morbid memories, sorry guys. Am off to an Open House at Franz Blam's race shop in Atlanta!

Correct. Scariest wet corner I've ever driven.

As much as I enjoy this string, you guys have to undetstand that there's only a few ways to know these answers. Either I've been there, or it's been on TV, or it's been photographed for books and magazines. So, obscure tracks that only see DE's are hardly recognizable. I realize that you're Club Racing, but you get the idea. Having said that, keep it coming!
I think RXDOC is entering the downhill esses at Road Atlanta, although chute at Watkins Glen wouldn't surprise me either.
JerryW I'm thinking might be at carrousel Sears (Infineon), although the lack of an overpass bridge there is bothering me.
Jim Child is at a really obscure track that I've never seen, unless it's Waterford Hills, but I don't place that one.

I agree with Road Atlanta, but wall is to close for downhill esses. I am thinking either the straight between T5 and T6 or the back straight.
