Agreed. The top group was nearly empty.

I thought that was due to the sound police. My car registered at an amazing 97 db on Saturday. Apparently, my boxster was the loudest car at the track during the weekend.

Nice, I considered taking the muffler off my car before unloading it from the trailer, so as not to confuse the neighbors...

haha, ya, but atleast you guys had SOME growl...mine was literally like a old man with emphysema attempting to sing. Anyhow, thats the last time I race that car with cans on for sure. I was definitely making car noises to make up for the lack of real sounds...pretending to have a dog box while racing is pretty funny...

Gary, I was hoping we'd get a chance to talk, it was a great race, one of my best, and you were the only one that pressured me at all. I had to sit out most of practice and didn't even qualify my car because my clutch was so weak. I started last at 24th and passed 31 cars, counting lappers, in 20 laps, to come in 7th OA, 1st GT car. You were the only one that repassed me at any time. I have a killer video that I'm hoping to post. Don't say I didn't warn you guys about a ringer!

Also a new record was set for "E", the former "F" class. Race time of 1:01.409 in a Boxster..!!
I heard this guy is also a good mountain bike racer

That isn't a new record from what I read... but I think the Boxsters, once driven to their potential, will be great racers and be breaking a lot of E records. I really think they should keep separate records for old 911's vs. late model water-cooled cars. Us poor ol' 911 driver's have to work our butts off to stay up with them new fangled rides!

The "track records" on PCA.org aren't accurate. For some reason, they reset. If you look at the individual results from prior years you'll see they don't match. You literally have to go back and look at each year's results to find the records.

At some point 38D said he might take to tracking the class records again. It isn't perfect to track given how cars have moved all over the place in classing, but I think we all liked it...

I really need to dig up my database again. I had everybody's results dating back to 1998 in a database. It shouldn't be too hard to resurrect it.

Well, either way it was a blast to drive...first time out in a prepped E class Boxster and it will only get better from here. Besides, we all know they were all blatant cheaters before 2002...

Rick - without giving away any trade secrets, could you line item what it takes to bring a stock Boxster (let's say it already has a hard top) up to PCA club race max legal level? I'm curious what you can do to one. Also, what would it take to try one out for a few laps? As much as I love my 911, there is no holding back the wave... if we can bang 1:01's and 1:02's out of 180HP 1978 911's with torsion bars.... imagine the possibilities.
