Are you putting on a factory hard top or one of the fiberglass ones I've seen around? What are most people doing?

I am puttng a fiberglass one on but only the outer shell not the whole top. I think most people are going fiberglass unless the car comes with a hard top.

Even if it comes with one, sell it & go with glass. Gets rid of a lot of weight up high.

The roof is also a great place to put your lead if you are under weight although I doubt you'll have that problem

FWIW, at my first race 2 weeks ago I was weighed at 2710 with my 170 lbs.(including gear) + 1/2 tank of gas. Some of the other cars were lighter. I have the glass roof....

Yeah I am not fat just big boned...got a good personality too because thats what really matters.....

Are you running any balast JR? I havent weighed the stuff that I have taken out so far but it doesnt seem to be that much. I know the rag top must weigh a bunch but the other stuff doesnt seem that significant.

Yeah I am not fat just big boned
Ok, now you're just braggin'

My car weighed right @ the minimum when Dylan had it & we weigh the same (160+ gear). He had to run 50 Lbs. of ballast to get it there. All that stuff adds up. I think the fattest stuff is the top/mechanism/motors & seats.

He did it solo I think so it can't be too hard. In hindsight, I would buy a Bentley Manual so you don't break stuff unnecessarily. Looks like you can get one for around $ 80.00. Remember, a lot of the stuff on this car is snap fit

removing the top is a piece of cake to do w/ one person. it's really only three nuts per side & not really all that heavy.
