That's really interesting since we're all apparently the same weight. I wonder what that extra 50lbs.is that's left in my car.

Chris I did not have any ballast when I made 2710 with a half-tank of gas. I didn't even have a cool suit cooler...

Chris, new rules, if you weigh less than 200 lb and need 50 lb of ballast you have a girls car. I don't know how accurate the TWS scales were, my guess is they were heavy as I did not require any ballast with my 220lbs and my car is gutted of everything and has a chro-mo cage.

This is a re-post, but are there any spec boxsters running in the southeast? I am looking into building an H stock 996 and running it with PCA and PBOC. Spec boxster would be a lot less expensive to run, but its no fun if there isn't anyone to race with. There was a yellow spec boxster testing at Roebling Road a few years ago, but the rules hadn't really been set yet.

The scales were off +180 give or take @ TWS based on Noby, Doug & my cars.

The old cup weighed right @ 2700 with a 1/4 tank/no driver if I remember right. It was over by about 125 Lbs. from the minimum. My guess is it was the later cars carbon rear bumper/doors, etc. That's why it feels great when you know you weigh more & have 40hp less & still outrun the late boys Daytona was the best since it's a "HP" track! Whatever

David,
I don't know of any yet but I don't think it will be long. Steve & I decided to try and get the class rolling around here. I'll be surprised if we don't have 8-10 by year end. Do you have anybody else out there your direction who might be interested in doing it w/you? I bet a couple of you guys could get it rolling pretty easy. Let me know if I can help you with any info

Jay - thanks for the 411 on Spec Boxsters! I can't wait to check them out at the DE at MSR.

I would love to get one but am still in the Spec Miata world. I bought a SM a year ago. Its going to be hard to sneek another car by the wife. LOL. SM - Now that is a girly car - a SM makes a SB feel BUTCH!

Jay are you racing at the PCA Eagles Canyon race in May and do you get a big turn out for that event? Just thinking... Some time in the next year we're going to have to figure out how to get together and race. Let's see, it's only 20 hours or so from So Cal. I used to haul horses to Ft. Worth 3 or 4 times a year so I'm used to the trip....

Should be a good race JR. Its a new track so no home court advantage for us. Last DE we had about 150 cars out there. Come on down south and party wtih us. Jay will be there in his spec barbie and mine will be done by then too.

Hey Jay,

Yes, picked up a few down there and have a bunch more in stock...we now have 5 built and 3 more in the works...! Got out to the first open test day with a couple and they were great..! We built them for PCA stock classes, copied the Cup blueprint as much as we could...electrics, wipers, cage, seats, safety, suspension, and they are a blast to drive..! We came up with a great formula of shocks, springs, bars, exhaust and alignment. Feel and sounds just like a mini Cup..! Should be strong in F and we did 2 Boxster S cars for E, the power and bigger brakes are awesome in those F cars..

I will post more pictures of the cage and other parts soon...
