Absolutely;

No question, as he was a passenger at that point. The respectful thing to do would have been to stick your car into the fence right off and try and avoid taking out one of your competitors. If he thought there was a slim chance he'd come out the other end unscathed... he's dumber than I thought. You'd still look dumb stuffing your own car, but at least you would not have taken someone else out of the race with your stupidity. Everyone's lucky he only got one!

Once again, I wax prosaic...

Melo deserves a beatdown.

Who wants to organize a posse? I'll bring the beer (Canadian since it has alcohol in it).

They (Dorsey) also said that when the Audi punted (yes punted, glad to hear he is getting a more serious infraction than the stop and go penalty now) the RSR between T4 and 5 that he was doing 140... that is a high 2nd gear or low 3rd gear area, 70MPH or so.

Now that was a big boneheaded move in my book. Totally unnecessary to swerve back online like that, especially so close to turn in.

Isn't that how it often happens in a long endurance race? Someone needs a competitor to break or have troubles? Sometimes it goes down to the wire.

I thought this happened going into turn 3...that's why I thought maybe Dorsey's speed comment may have been close.

The second place Acura was DQed for having "a leak in the airbox". Porsche 1-2-3!!!

From the ALMS Website
Adrian Fernandez and Luis Diaz had finished second overall and in class but failed a post-race stall test in technical inspections. Their Lowe's Fernandez Racing Acura ARX-01b was excluded as a result.

That's great for Porsche and our friend Andy Lally.

A quick sum of fastest lap times for key GT2 cars:

62 car (Risi F-car): 2.02.434
46 car (Lizard): 2.02.721
45 car (Lizard): 2.03.193

At the race I bumped into one of the Lizard tech guys. They were amazed because after the 46 car lost its rear bumper they said it was a 1/2 second faster than it was before. The Lizard cars with full Aero were at best 8/10ths slower than the Risi Ferrari. I hope that more time with the car can close the gap.
