Fernandez is closing the gap on second and has plenty of time to overtake 1st if he maintains his current pace. He must be really working the tires compared to the Porsche guys.

edit - He just took second and is 34sec behind the leader.

I guess the thought (hope?) is that he might need 2 stops to the Spyders' one.

Fernandez has already closed the gap down to 24sec.

I hope you are right about the stops or someone should get on the radio to Dumas and tell him to go ahead and risk some quicker lap times.

Edit - He had a pit and changed all of that.

The added weight of LMP1 vs LMP2 cars doesn't help brakes.

Jon Field of Intersport Racing has done a decent job so far.

I hope they need a splash just so they don't catch the #7!

Sounds like they both need a splash. There could be some gamesmanship going on there.

This could go down to the wire even after 12hrs.

Dumas is widening the gap now. They told him to put his foot in it.

Penske's got all the breaks. Extra Year, Extra Factory Money, Factory Drivers. Dyson was around racing the R8s when no one else would, they deserve it!

I'm definitely pulling for Dyson, but I'll take any Porsche overall.

Looking good in GT2, too, though the best lap times for the 430s vs. RSRs is not in the RSR's favor.

I'm impressed with what Penske has done. Say what you will, but they are workman-like pros.

I wasn't able to watch the entire race. What happened to the Risi F Cars?
