Those gorrilla racks came from COSCO uh? Any place else to get them? The COSCO employee that got me a COSCO card got fired. So they wouldn't let me buy the last time I went there. I sure hate to pay to shop, but I guess I have no choice, cause those things look neat, and fairly easy to assemble for an unhandy guy like me.

I've seen similar ones at Home Depot and Lowe's. They are easy to assemble and are really strong.

Those look exactly like the ones I used for fabbing my "hang down from the ceiling" shelves and I got them from Home Depot. Damn cheap too.

I had some 2x4's left over from a home project, so I decided to make some racks cheaply. Then I read Grassroots Motorsports latest magazine, and the guy from Tire Rack, said you should not store tires, rubber side down, and especially not on tire racks. So I stacked them in a corner, and they really don't take much more room than a good tire rack would, and supposedly, they will store better. And it didn't cost anything, or take any more time than it took to stack them and put them in garbage bags. It doesn't look all that great, but, oh well.

Bill, did you build a rack or just stack them on their side?

So Tire Rack suggest not to store them on a tire storage rack yet that is the solution they sell? I think at the speed I go through tires and the rate they come off and on the car that it really doesn't matter how I orient them on the wall.

+1 and if you really want to get fancy on this, here's a little tip:

Take your old tyre(s) and slice them up so that you can make a "tire cradle" out of about 1/3 of a circumfence of a tire and only use the thread portion, this "scoop" then "cradles" the tire and there won't be any issues with tires thread even if strored little longer.

Crisp and LVDell, yes I just stacked them on the side. I put the 2x4's back in my storage barn. If you use tires very fast, I doubt that putting them on a rack would hurt. But, John Rastetter in the Dec issue of Grassroots, said do not store upright which is how they would go on a rack. I am using tires over a year old, so I did what he said. If you use a set every couple of months, I wouldn't worry about it.

LVDell The rationale was flat spotting. But with Damon from the same business as John, I get a little confused. But I had an excuse not to build a tire rack. I'm lazy, so I am going to stick with John's advice. But the rack is cool looking, and at $129 you can't go wrong.

FYI, They don't track whose number you use online and most stuff has free shipping.
