I dowloaded rFactor off the web, but got an eary edition by mistake (1150). Then, I follwed your link for the upgrade version R1225 and downloaded the files from a zip. But, I cant seem to figure out how to "install" them to the older version. The game keeps coming up in the old version

Any advice from the maven on how to upgrade from my downloaded files?

First you need to update to version 1250 -
rFactor update patch to version 1250 - http://www.rfactorcentral.net/rFactor1250Update.exe

Then using your "unzip" program (WinZip works well) extract the 1255 zip file contents directly into the C:\Program Files\rFactor folder (or wherever you installed rFactor).

All tracks get extracted into the \rFactor\GameData\Locations folder. After you extract them look there and you should see a Folder with the name of the track, in this case Sebring..

Tried connectng again and still no go. Same symptoms. I noticed that on the first attempt there is a mention of file missiing sebring.scn , then it kicks me out and on further attempts I do not get the error and it kicks me out right away.

I also tried connecting to another Mobil1 Cup server and it works. The one I connected even had the sebring track loaded and it worked This server was called racing.tpgleague.org

So I would guess that your sebring track is missing something. I also noticed that it doesn't mather which car and track you have selected before joining the game as long as you have them installed your fine.

OK, I think I've figured it out. There are two Sebring tracks on the web site. I used the link you've supplied in your previous post which points to a track called Sebring 12h but there is another one called only Sebring which I'll try installing right now.

Sorry!! On the Server it's called Sebring - 12 Hours of Sebring which is why the mix-up. Sysgen ran tonight with me for some practice laps, we are starting to learn the track. The more I run it the better I like it.. Server is up 24/7 and has 5 AI drivers to mix it up with so give it a try!

TeamSpeak server will be up tomorrow for trial at 24.151.98.45 .. same password as the race server - hammer.

I'll be the first to make excuses as to why I'm so slow.

I was running the old Sebring 12h track with no graphics issues but the new one seems to get screwy. The scuff marks disappear and reappear and then they follow along beside the car. Anyone else with this issue? If so should we use the other Sebring?

Fun stuff. Tomorrow I'll get my mic hooked up.

How do you tell who's AI and who's real?

We had no issues (other than both of us flying off the track) tonight, were you online or in single player mode? As for who is who, display the names above the cars..

Should have shown a pic of that nice Black Dell 997 machine.. maybe I will grab a frame from the replay tomorrow..
