I think I know what the error is. Both of those track versions have a file called Sebring.tdf and unless I yank one while running the other there will be a mismatch.. It's an educated guess anyway... i'll test it tomorrow, for now run the new one.

OK, so I figured out my machine at home is borderline to run rFactor, but then I had a crazy idea. Knowing that you can load a different OS onto a PS3, what are the chances to get rFactor to run on it? Should have more than enough HP to work. Will rFactor work on Linux machines or is it Windows only or is this just crazy talk?

Always good to think outside the box Riff, but sorry, it needs a Windows OS to work.

 

I can't tell if I'm hitting people or not. When I get close to the car in front of me it looks like they turn sideways and disappear but they seem to come back quick. I can still see the whole car when this happens.

Also, I got a headset and Teamspeak but have no idea how they work.

It's incredible how I get engaged in the game, you were following me around the track and I started pushing too much and went off track. I gotta learn to keep my line and not care of the cars behind

That sounds like lag, I've seen it a little. Usually means that either your internet line or Gary's line can't keep up in updating the cars location. It actualy can be a bunch of things.

 

I just don't want to tick everyone off by ramming them so if I am let me know and I'll adjust. Until race day that is

 

It may well be the servers connection and the internet flux with Charter.. Sysgen was pretty much rock solid from my view though, as are the AI cars..

 

How big is the server pipe for uploading Gary? There might be some changes that the drivers have to change on their computers to make the connections better.

My server buddy from the trackpedia league might be able to give you a couple pointers if you want some help.

 

Input is always welcome. My cable is 512K/8M and tests out pretty stable at 490K/4900K to East Coast DSL Report servers. I just dusted off my Win2000 Server and will run rFactor and teamspeak from there. It also has an FTP site for file sharing and i'll toss together a cobbled web site soon. I can hear you but I guess I have it screwed up on this side. I assigned a button on my wheel as the PTT but in Teamspeak settings it doesn't recognize the wheel or I'm doing something wrong

I have to work on car set up. I've tweeked camber and tire pressure but Skeen was crazy fast. He's cheating somehow
