Info needed on Road Atlanta
I'm going to RA in a couple of weeks for the first time and was wondering if anybody could point me to a good clean video or other relevant info so I could become somewhat familiar with it. If it's one after the repave all the better.
Also does anyone have the Traqmate coordinates for the S/F line?
TIA

Well you could always watch Leh Keen's vid at RA. It was from the club race here earlier this year. I am sure there are some others floating around as well.

I was there in April after the repave. Youre gonna have some fun!!! The first time you come over the hill after the chicane is awesome!! It looks like your driving off the top of a mountain. I didnt have an instructor and had never driven there before so I was prety much on my own. I think I did ok, except I couldnt find a line I liked for turn 5 (left hander at the bottom of the esses) Here is some video, just ignore my little mistake at the end.

Im drivng a totally stock 88 924S on street tires. I think Road Atlanta is my new favorite track. Hopefully I can get down there again next year!!

Thanks guys. I'll have to look up Leh's video I think I actually saved it when he posted it several months ago. And thanks Jason, our cars probably have similar handeling characteristics so I'll be sure to look at your video tonight.
Anyone with Traqmate coordinates??

That is funny. My son has an Xbox and before I drove at RA did that. It really did teach me the track.
The only thing that doesn't translate very well is the elevation change.

Thats the only track in that game I do well at, LOL. I totally agree that the only thing that doesnt translate is the elevation changes. That doesnt even show up in videos though. Like I said the first time you crest the hill headed for 12 is an eye opening experience.

if i tried ANY of the tricks i do in Forza on the Real track, i would totally destroy my car within a lap LOL. its insane how much you can drive over the curbs in turn 3 and 10 - try doing that for real and your suspension is toast

If you're referring to the Peachstate PCA DE in a couple weeks, I think they do a slow "mama duck" session for the group 1 ("green" in other regions) students on Saturday morning.
You might see if you can get in on that if you're in any of the other groups.
I'll be there in group 4.

I know I'm slow but PLEASE...
I'm an instructor but have never run at this track so when I registerred I asked for an instructor. They placed me in Group 2. I guess that's similar to Blue which is fine with me. The other 2 guys who are comming down with me (both instructors and running black 944 S2's) I think are running in group 4 also as they have been there several times. Stop by and say hi. Just look for the Porsche german flag on a big flagpole...

Whoa there, I didn't mean to infer anything
You'll probably be signed off solo Saturday morning, and if there's enough room you can move to a solo group. In any event you should have a great time.
I'll be sure to give your friends point-bys when I see them
