Default Great weekend at VIR....thanks to Potomac PCA! **UPDATE...VIDEO POSTED**

What a great 3 days at VIR. Enjoyed seeing alot of the Rennlist usual track addicts and some that I have just met for the first time.

Had a blast and finally hit my goal of braking 2:10 for the first time! FYI........My car is completely stock (except for TRG toe arms) and I was running Nitto NT-01's. Now it's time to get some suspension upgrades as a reward

Wow, the track was EXTREMELY slick though. There were 39, yes you heard right, 39 incidents on day 1!!! That dropped to something like 20 on Day 2. As for Day 3 I have no idea. Turn 1,3, and 4 were like ice.

I didn't take any pics so if anybody has some please post to this thread as I am sure many would be happy to see them. See y'all at VIR again with FSR in a couple weeks

***UPDATE******UPDATE******UPDATE******UPDATE******UPDATE***

Here is the LINK to the video I just posted of my 2 fastest laps at VIR this past weekend. I am running with Chris L. whom you cannot see in the video since these were 2 laps where I was lead. Had a blast running with Chris!

ENJOY!

Glad you had a great time Dell. Was signed up to go but then I was reminded the it was my wife's BDay yesterday....

Completely stock eh?
I didn't realize that regular GT3's came with that rear wing
But that's OK, My S2 is stock too...

I missed it this year. I attended last year and it was a fantastic event! 3 days, full track, nice people, fast cars. Glad you had a good time.

Ok Eddie, I guess I'll add that I have the toe arms AND the rs wing. IIRC, the rs wing is good for about 25hp

My NOT stock list:
1. Toe Arms
2. RS Wing
3. Nitto NT01's

Ah!, confession is good for the soul my son.
Now say three Hail Mary's and go get those suspension mods!

Was everybody OK with all the incidents?

Congrats on the 2:10. That's smokin' !

Most all the incidents were 2 and 4 offs. There were a few armco introductions and some tire walls that wish they weren't where they were

No injuries though. Only 1 of the serious impacts resulted in a totaled car (IMHO).

You going to the FSR event?

A bit surprised to hear about the large number of incidents .....

Is the track that difficult, or was it spilled fluids ?....

I hope to do an event at VIR in the near future......

No rain in 2 months led to a VERY slick track and people just failed to adjust accordingly.

Most incidents were due to the slick conditions, I think.

My private meeting with the armco was 100% my fault.
RF fender, front bumper, few dents in RR quarter, and 2 busted wheels and it appears it killed the tranny.

But up until then - I was having a pretty decent time... The heat really takes the power away, and it was so slick... Fastes I ran was either a 2:07.20 or a 2:07.40, can't remember to be honest - but one of those 2. To me, it was far worse that it was on Aug 30-31 when I was there, but it could've been that my tires had fewer cycles.

The entrance to T3 is where I screwed up, BUT, that section is still my favorite part of entire track.

Had a great time as well. Only stayed for Fri - Dell, never got a chance to catch up with you at the end of Fri but I ended up pulling a similar maneuver in T4! That was fun...no black flag. ;-)

Also had a great time. Did a 180, 4 off in 3 as well on Sat., but no Armco. Very well run event, and a lot of very quick cars/drivers. Met a few listers for the 1st time, and was able to get some help tracing a vacum leak and a temporary fix to keep me on track for Sunday.

Wes, it was good to see you! Hope you bring 993 S next time around - it has special place in my heart being my first Porsche.

Dell, it was nice to meet you in person - you were definitely flying around VIR!

Had a such a blast with my instructor(Louis Dibrell), who showed me fast(i.e. NOT DE) line around the course. Trailbraking into 14a, going full throttle in second and third into 16 and braking downhill in short straight stretch b/w 16 and 17 were awesome! :-)

Looking forward to FSR DE in two weeks!

Alex,

Was nice catching up. The 6/GT3 looks amazing! Great find!

If I have the 993 ready in time for FSR I'll bring it. I'll be there on Mon.
