Luckily, I faired much better in my buddy's GT3 for a few sessions at Summit Point earlier this month, though someone did crash a white GT3 in my run group that day, I think the video was posted here. Driving the GT3, I was nervous at first but got over it incredibly fast, which in turn worried me After stepping out of my almost stock 944 turbo, driving that GT3 was like a dream come true. Instant ON gas pedal--I grinned every time I accelerated out of turn 5

From this angle, I think I figured out the problem. He has too much toe-in on the right front. No wonder he crashed.

They had the final straight before the turn to pick up your time ticket set up where everyone else stage up/or maybe parked. This CORVETTE owner let his friend drive his car and pressed the clutch instead of the brake pedal when the vette over steered....??

Ooops, sorry guys.. You're right Mike B. I had it backwards. So it is the GT3 that plowed on everyone's car. BUT it was the Vette's driver(who is a friend of the GT3 owner) that was driving the GT3 when it wrecked! ok got it

A white GT3 RS (996) lost control in a corner and drove nose first right into the rail gaurd at the local track here last Friday.

No pictures, the guy was pissed off, i told him at least you walked away without a scratch....

So what happens to resolve this mess? The driver clearly screwed up, insurance isn't going to pay, does he have to pay for all the carnage himself? I realize racers are usually prepared to absorb their own damages, but who goes to an autocross thinking they may be liable for $150k in damages.

i have no pro input but I bet that if everyone signed the SCCA waver each owner is stuck with the cost of their own car with little legal recourse on the drover. They can all sue the drover and anyone else involved in that days events and likely will do so. The guy that set the layout is high on the list too I bet. Anyone can sue anyone for the most part but winning the suit is another story. The cost of defending against the suits will take a toll on the drover and any others for sure if they are filed and pursued.

Were any of the hit cars only there as transportation cars? That is for getting a spectator there and not driven in the AX? In that case there should be the case for a claim on your own insurance if you have an uninsured driver rider. The guy driving the GT3 was uninsured while driving and you were only parking in a parking lot.

I bet that this one is going to be around for a while as it unfolds. Many $hit piles to be stepped in and thrown around.

I had a buddy let me drive his Boxster at sebring, no problems, but I am never doing that again. Bad enough to crash your own car, but to crash a friend's would be just aweful.
