GT3 wrecked at autocross
GT3 bites dust at SCCA autocross and takes out 3 other cars.
Looks like a pretty poor course design.

I posted at the very end there.... bad confluence of a driver unfamiliar with the GT3 he was driving (borrowed), sketchy course design (course and parked cars sharing the paddock lot), and other cars including spectators at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Nonetheless, a very unfortunate event that is getting a lot of mileage on the interweb. Supposedly the third GT3 wrecked at PIR this year. The driver is the guy in the pic holding his helmet.

There is almost no chance this will be covered by any insurance policy. Timed event. Someone f@#$%*up big time when they layed out the course in relation to the paddock. I just hope no spectators were hurt. Lets see the blue ricer: probably $5k in damages. The Audi is probably a total because of the trans axle damage.
And the GT3? Well, kiss about $70k .

Oh sheet! Man, that guy must have wanted to crawl under a rock. Hate to see any car go down like that, much less a p-car. I'll remember to park my car well away from the action.

Three Wheelin'
A friend of mine was driving another friend's 911 Turbo, and took it on a "real neat road", lost it on the first turn and hit a good size cedar tree. He said he looked at the owner, who was covered by the air bag, and all he could see were his eyes. He said they were not "happy eyes". It was covered by insurance, and it cost $4,500 deductable. The one in this thread is awful, because there will be several lawsuits, and maybe against the SCCA. If the bystanders did not sign the waiver, the SCCA could be screwed.
