I don't understand people who do not care for their dogs or kids at the track. I have three young children (4yr old daughter and nearly 3 year old twin boys), and I do not bring them to the track unless I have one adult per kid to watch them. First and foremost, I do not want them to get hurt. Secondly, I do not want to **** off my fellow drivers.

Now, if there is an adult who is actively watching the children and/or dogs at all times (and not just "wink wink" watching), then I do not see the problem.

We lost 20+ minutes of track time at Willow Springs this weekend when a dog ran out onto the track. Then when the session opened up there was gravel in a few spots from the pick-ups trying to catch him.

Nice Job Jerseybean!!! and he is "slippery".

I listen the corners in the boot all the time: Corner 6 we have an animal on line.............. Corner 5 car coming............. Corner 6.....oooopps groundhog is no longer online. Corner 5 ...... do you need to put out a yellow? NO, car's spoiler removed the animal, all clear.

Mark,

Dogs are allowed at Watkins Glen. They cannot be loose and must be on a 6' leash when not confined.

I personally confirmed this by telephone with the WGI administrative offices prior to registering for any of this year's events at Watkins.

Jack has been coming to the Glen since summer '05 as a 6- month puppy. In addition to WGI, Jack has accompanied me to Mosport, VIR and Summit Point. Lime Rock, Mid-Ohio and Pocono all have a no pets policy.

Thanks, Rich. I'll email them.

Have you brought your pup to the Glen this year?

Mark,

THe EVENT organizers have absolute "no" on their registration for that event. Conversation must be with them first.

Default No Pets

People as Track Chair of HCR and a dog lover, I must simply state that if you show up with your pet you will asked to leave. There are no exceptions to this rule as it is our policy on pets.

At VIR this past April, our room key to the suites wasn't working, so I drove up to the main office to get it reprogrammed. The lady asked for the room number and said "oh, yeah, we've been looking for you, we've got a report that you have a dog". At which point I looked at my roomie and asked "do we have a dog?" I smiled and told her that no, we didn't own or bring a dog with us. I then asked her if that was against the rules. She said "yes". I then asked her if that was just for the suites or all of VIR and she said it was for all of VIR. However, I did see one or two dogs, leashed, during that weekend.

I'll be happy to be a character witness for Rudy. He's a pussycat in the body of big dog. My 7 seven year old daughter loves walking him around, even though at one point, Rudy towered over my daughter. The only time we've every heard Rudy bark was when we fired up an RC car.

Thanks for the info, everyone.

Manny, squirrels, deer and radio-controlled cars are about the only things that get him barking.
