Throttle position for DL-1 on a 3.2L
I want to include throttle position in the data that I am logging, but the 3.2L Carrera engine does not have a proper throttle position sensor (it's more like an on/off for WOT). What have others done in the older cars? I'm thinking of using one of these: http://celesco.com/promo/spseries.html connected to the throttle linkage. I figure I can also use one for steering angle.
Thoughts?

Race Car
I think I got it from Race Technology (back when the dollar was a little stronger). I made an L-shaped bracket to attach to the floorboard, and then a lighter-weight bracket to hold the plunger in position under the pedal. I haven't had any issues with it since I installed it.

Seems simple enough, thanks Jack.
I got the "idea" of using a string potentiometer wrapped around the steering column from a pic I saw in a magazine. Last night I realized it was the article on Geoffrey's car in Total 911 where I saw the pic.

Sjanes,
Bosch has a local office in Ontario which it looks like your from. If you know _anyone_ with an engineering degree, they can receive free samples from Bosch directly for projects and what not.
If you don't have someone, then they I suggest a visit to a local scrapyard, if you have one that specializes in Porsche then all the better. OE sensors work great with no mods required.
Of course you can purchase retail, but I personal have a hard time paying over $300 for something that moves back an forth sending an electrical impulse.
If you haven't been the the RT forum yet, check that out as well.
