Don't forget the 10mm wrench to get it out of the block.

And for those who don't know...Ford sells the CPS for around $200, while any International truck dealer will sell you that same CPS for around $95.

Der Professor has changed a few...but hasn't had to put one into his '03 7.3 yet...the symptoms haven't appeared so far....(tick tick tick tick).

Right, but the 10mm is so much more effective, if you can handle it.

That was always 007's argument for why he carried a .380

Just sold my '05 F250 powerstroke today. When I need a tow vehicle again I'm hoping Toyota has a diesel. I liked my truck, but it's just a standing illustration of how bad the US carmakers are absent competition. Crummy interior materials, the chassis rusts all over the place, fit/finish suck... What will Ford/GM have left to sell once Toyota is selling big pickups?

Smart move! I had that CPS die on my 7.3, and it left me stranded. The 6.0 has been kick *** for me. Love her dearly, just did a Mobil-1 change last night. ;-).

When did trucks get like software, never buy the first version. The early 6.0's were troublesome, and now the early 6.4's too. They will get it worked out.

has anyone blown off an intercooler hose with their 6.0 ? I did with just 7k on the clock. Dealer says nothing wrong jus toil in the intake. Yeah OK...

Also does anyone get the "flutter" noice out of their airbox after accelerating then letting up on the gas pedal?

AndyT,
I have had the same issues that you have with the intercooler hoses and the "flutter". I have 98,000 on my 04 6.0 4WD dually. The passenger side hose came off on me 3 times while under load and towing, whined to the ford garage and they "updated" that hose. Lots 'o oil seeping at ALL the hoses. For the "flutter" I have 2 solutions, when I download my predator programmer the noise dissapears, and o/ have the ford garage flash the computer. I do not know why, but the program will eliminate that issue. I have had a few issues, 5 injectors leaking, etc. Suspension, fit finish, usual American disposable truck. Too bad my ford dealership likes to tell strange diesel stories, I have fun correcting the techs and remind them I own and operate a garbage hauling company. I am waiting for the Toyota to offer a dually and I'll be in line along with the rest of you...

Someplace in the basement, I have an ammo box full of '06 ball tracer (shhh !!!). I don't run it thru the Garand 'cuz it raises hell with the match barrel, but if I knew somebody with a Class III BAR.....
