Haywood remains very busy when he’s away from the driver’s seat. He’s a principal in the Brumos Porsche dealership—buying a car there and having Hurley Haywood hand you your keys is an asset other Porsche stores have trouble duplicating...

Now there's a guy who should write an autobiography when he retires. Imagine the stories he could tell. The experience with Peter Gregg from his perspective alone would be worth the price.

Totally agree laskin- having followed that pretty closely back in the 70's (with several mid winter trips to the 24 to escape Iowa winters) he would have some invaluable insight into a complex man...

I also know a few big time drivers that are praying that he doesn't publish.

My first memory of Hurley is meeting him when he showed up at the 1969 Trans-Am race at Seattle (Kent) with Peter Gregg, running in the Under 2 Liter class.

"My first memory of Hurley is meeting him when he showed up at the 1969 Trans-Am race at Seattle (Kent) with Peter Gregg, running in the Under 2 Liter class."
Now that's going back there...I was in tenth grade and drawing cars- not driving them- at that time.
He was my instructor at a PDE event about seven or eight years ago. A very nice but very serious fellow. He obviously recognized all my faults but never once snickered (let alone laughed out loud) and helped me a great deal.

BTW, you may have been 8-10 years old mentally, but we know you were 18-19 physically!

You loked it up right?
![Cheers](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/beerchug.gif)
I had forgotten he had gone to Mustang
I was working for an Alfa dealer in Lake Forest (I had a child labor work permit), and Horst Kweck (Horst Quick) and his Ausca team were loosely affiliated with them.
I think he won the U2L championship in 66 or 67.
Sorry Jim, back to the topic at hand...
