I have definitely heard of the 305 RA-1's rubbing on the rear fenders of the GT3. Others say not, but it's probably borderline without rolled fenders.

Have you tried the Nittos? So I gather that you would recommend the 275s as the 315 Nittos would seem to wide?

I am going to check into the tire's width and and inflated diameter and compare to the 295 PS2's I have right now. I have no desire to go DOWN to a 275 from a 295 if I do not have to.

O.K., so here's the spec on the tires:
Michelen PS2's currently on the car:
ID-->25.00 Width-->11.90 Rev/Mile-->832
MPSC (non-shaved):
ID-->25.20 Width-->12.10 Rev/Mile-->833
Nitto 275/35:
ID-->25.55 Width-->10.91 Rev/Mile-->813
Nitto 315/30:
ID-->25.35 Width-->12.60 Rev/Mile-->819
ID=Inflated Diameter

So the verdict is what for you?
Can we work these 315s?

Considering that the inflated diameter is only .35" more and the width is .7" more I am thinking there should be no problem at all.
Taking into account that the width in only .7" that is not a full .7" on the outside but rather the ENTIRE contact patch and in "rough" math terms that is only .35" extended to the outside (as well as .35" to the inside). So, .35" out and .35" up (ID) I can't see any reason why there would be rubbing issues.
But for the street, I would say no.

I have not seen the Nittos. The contact I had with the RA-1 305/35R18s was that the sidewall would touch the fender edge on serious compression, such as when the car got air. The Toyo web site says the 305s have a 12.5" overall width when inflated.

Stock ride height: 115 + 5 mm (115 to 120 mm) front and 128 + 5 mm (128 to 133 mm) rear. Rear camber, where the rubbing occurred, was -2°.
At Shenandoah I get air under all four wheels after coming under the bridge at about 120+ mph.
