My wife and I stayed at the Villager last weekend in the old building. It was clean and comfortable. Probably the best accomidations we have had in Watkins Glen. A little bit of traffic noise but the AC drowned it out. One plus is that if you mention the Porsche Club when making your reservation they will give you 10% discount. This offer came from the owners wife who is trying to get more track guests to stay there.

I think I have stayed in just about every room there. I love that place, it is clean and the people are friendly. Food and brews are great and it is a little old fashion but it is all part of the experience!

The Falls View is similar to a Ritz Carlton when compared to the Seneca Lodge. I stay at the Falls View all the time and like it. Clean and relatively new facilitiy owned by a real nice guy, Phil. I stayed at the Seneca once and it reminded me of the cabins you stay in when camping. If campings your bag, you'll love the Seneca. Do bring some bug repellant!

The Falls is as close, or closer.....and you can actually get a night's sleep! No need to bring a hand gun to fight off the bugs, etc. either.

Talking Memories from The Seneca Lodge

Where else can you see one of your fellow drivers girl friend drink to much and puke under the table in the bar? The Seneca Lodge!

Where else can you have a 18 year old waitress say to you as you were getting ice from the machine in the restaurant section, "I know what you all are doing, you've got brewskies in your room"? The Seneca Lodge!

Where else can you be in your room in your underwear about ready to get in bed with your other half when you hear someone putting a key into your door, not realizing in their drunken state that they are in front of the wrong door and you moving towards the door just as you realize that the door is opening because some of the locks are "keyed alike and you push it shut. And the key holder pushing it back open a little and you pushing it closed again. At this point you tell them they have the wrong room? The Seneca Lodge!

I wont talk about the "Cabins" or the rooms under the bar that are damp. But I wouldn't have missed any of these things as they were part of the whole track experience. And the Motel rooms weren't that bad either.

Bull, stop telling them about the Falls, or we will blame you when we can't get a room there.

Actually I like the Seneca...I'm just trying to get the crowds down a bit by sending people to that dump, The Falls, which isn't even located in Watkins Glen....no "character, local flavor, history, salad bar, etc.".........You won't find me staying at The Falls in two weeks!
