Default Pics of car post Hand accident at Mid-Ohio

The link shows some high def pics of Joey Hands car after the accident. Really shows the importance of not skimping where safety counts.

and making sure the grass ski jumps along side the newly paved roads, allow the 100mph+ cars to safely clear the service roads.

Gregg is right. As of last weekend they haven't done anything to correct the problem. All they've done is install a tire wall in front of the jump to slow you down before you hit it.

Provides an interesting counterpoint to the old rule - "a good race is when you can drive it on to the trailer at the end of the day" ...and I guess a bad day is when you have to use a forklift?

Cool, I've always wanted to see what goes on inside one of those engines! LOL!

The door bars are interesting. They installed two sets, an X connecting the main hoop and the front hoop and NASCAR style bars. The NASCAR style bars are neat how in the front they go to the door sill and not the cage itself.

Also, they're lucky the caribiner thingy on the lifting strap didn't come apart. They didn't screw down the latch.

Thanks for posting.

The nastycar bars are most likely what PTG has installed post-BMW. The regular X is installed from the factory by BMW motorsports.

Reminds us all to ensure the integrity of that cage. Hope nobody has to test one again like that.

It sure looks like it did the job well, thankfully.

You wonder what has to occur before they smooth down the Alpine Jump? I would think a bulldozer would have smoothed the launch pad down the very next day.
