The general rule regarding discussions like this is as follows:

If a racer is quoting power output of a car that he is currently racing or is planning to race, the racer will quote low or advocate that it is lower than it really is.

If a racer is quoting power output of a car that his competition is currently racing or is planning to race, the racer will quote high or advocate that it is higher than it really is.

It is a racer's natural law that has never been broken.

+1!!

However Glen is a tricky devil, I am sure that he breaks many laws but I have yet to be clever enough to catch him

JC,
Actually my current 2000 car really 335 rwhp on the same dyno that showed my 03 long rod Cup at 360. Seems about right given the factory ratings. We have not added the breather valve to the 2000 yet and that should give us another 5-8 if we do it but it doesnt really matter. The 2000 car has a PMNA refreshed engine with about 30 or so hours on it now. It is the car I have the lowest laptime though at my local track. It runs 1:15's with a 1:15.2 being its lowest time. In the 2003 with more hp, trick speed world cchallenge suspension bits and big wing(ie Grand Am/Daytona spec) but on Michelin slicks the best I ever saw was 1:15.9. The 2000 runs on the skinnier wheels 8.5 frt and 10.5 rear instead of 9.5 and 11.5 like the Grand Am Cup had. Lou Giolotti in his C6R Speed GT Corvette turned his best lap of 1:14.7 with north of 500hp. These Cups are really great cars...In fact I just bought another, if anyone needs Instruction or seat time during the winter or a rental for a Club Race it will be at MSR . 45 mins from DFW airport and I can arrange instruction from several pro's or myself.

I was told by Porsche Motorsports to not even bother getting on the list, when I asked about getting one. They are bringing in just a handful this year, I think about 30, 15 for GT3 challenge and 15 for pro racing.

FYI

Farnbacher Loles has one LAST 997 Cup available (at list price of USD$140,626 FOB Germany), the interested party must run the entire IMSA Cup series (7 races). We will by supporting 6 997s and 2 996s for the entire 2006 season.

Mike,

Your engine arrives tomorrow from PMNA. Will be ready by Wednesday next week.

The 997 Cup in the photos/video was bought through Autometrics Motorsports in Charleston, SC to be used in the Grand Am Rolex Series.

The lower HP are common for car that delivered outside the professional Carrera cup series.
I mentioned many times but people do NOT want to relise this.
You are down about 15 HP from a top pro car in the Supercup. There is a way to find this hp if you know the secrets of these engines.
