yeah these motors love hi flowing exhuast... or just strate pipes

Not a clue Mark. Maybe Adam or Cory from Autometrics will chime in, or Leh if he knows. I don't even know if they dyno'd the '05 3.6L that we put in halfway through last season after we got it into the car.

I will say the '05 3.6L we put in felt substantially stronger than the 40k mile 3.4L we took out even carrying an extra 50 lbs of ballast at Barber.

Thanks Leh, Ive heard and now we SEE!!

funny, all that V8 talk about flat torque curves. that cup car curve looks like a table. doesnt get much better than that! (except more!!)

be interesting to see the GS Grand Am cup 996 dynos. I bet they got to be in the 300 rear wheel hp range.

Wow that 997 GT3 cup sure is strong up top! As I guessed, it's no better (actually worse) than the 996 below 7K. The 6100 RPM torque dip is still there, even worse. I wonder how they got the top end stronger, better exhaust? Mine gets too lean at higher RPMS, tried a few tweeks on the dyno but the ECU leaned it back out... I guess it's a spec car so will have to live with it.

Mike, easy to fix, You need to bump up the fuel pressure slightly so the per pulse from injecor is a bit higher and You can get the A/F ratio You need. Rick Deman can take care of it.

My car is early,(short rod) non gutted cats, early exhaust and no crankcase vent valve. When we run the gutted cats it climbs to about 344 rwhp from the 335. With the center exit late exhaust it is around 345. When You do the crankcase vent on an early car it is good for another 5-8 hp. Those are very real adjusted figures with no fluff at all in them. Same scenario the 03-05 long rod motor puts out about 360 rwhp. The 00 was rated at 360 at the crank and the 03-05 was 390 rated at the crank. Looking at a 15% driveline loss and You can see the factory is a bit conservative on their ratings.

Glen, how have you been?

What are the torque numbers for 03-05 Cups?
While we're on torque numbers, what are they for the 3RS?
What's the weight difference between the 3RS, 996Cup, and the 997 Cup?

The GT3 Cup has been right around 255-260 ftlbs at the wheels since '02. Torque peaks later on the later cars, thus the increased hp.

996 and 997 Cup (without PCCB) have published weight of 1150kg (2533 lbs) dry. PCCB is good for another 45lbs.
An RS will be around 2450 lbs.
