My gt3 has motons and my best was 1:36.8. Yes, motons do make a difference.

oh, and the car is for sale

That's a great lap time! Is that the preferred line around T2 (real tight). I've always stayed out and then brought it in for a late apex (Stock GT3). I'm wondering if the motons and of course V710s help with taking the tighter line there vs. stock suspension.

You're prob right the tires and suspension help the car take a racing line in t2. at skip school they just told us to do that line they claim it's faster. who am i to argue?

IMO, the tighter double apex line is best for racing, as it is fewer feet and is protective of a very common passing area. Howeve,r for qualifying or just fast laps, in many cars, the single late apex works better because it allows less tim in the corner and an earlier application of WOT, again IMO.

1:44.2 with new RA-1's. I expect that to fall as we continue to tune the car and as the RA-1's reach their prime. I'll be back on the track Sept 12 and 13 when Club Autosport hosts an open sound event! I get to run my Phase 9's!

shaved or full tread? I think we B.Soonwalla is running 1:40s in his spec 911, which is lightning fast. toyo RA1s shaved.

i think most spec 911 are on shaved toyos.
eric will be at 1:40 and below by year end.
i did 1:44 at LS two weeks ago with a BSR. and the pole was 1:42, 911 spec has to be 4-5 seconds faster for sure... now there's pressure, eric LOL....

behram should be faster than 1:40 (my guess only).
although he's been testing V710's lately.

I race with Behram every SCCA race. He is getting to the top of the spec group. I think they are just hitting 1:40s now, maybe high 1:39s. He did a 2:01.xx with the hill at T-hill last time we were out.

4-5 seconds faster than 1:42, so 1:37 for spec 911. That will never happen.

1. my post was directed at my bud, eric. i was saying he should be 4-5 seconds faster than i. so that's 4-5 seconds off my 1:44. so that's 139-1:40. i think eric can pull that off soon.

2. however, before the repaving of LS, on RA1 spec 911 has done 1:40's. with the new paving, i think that's worth 1.5 seconds, no? that would be 1:38:5. you may not know, but spec 911 was evaluating using V710's (not sure if they are going forward with it though), that could gain another second. so 1:37 is possible, not easy, but certainly not impossible.

3. behram is quite a proficient spec 911 racer. i have had the pleasure to share track with him at SP and TH. i get the hell out of his way when i see that clean shiny silver car on my mirror as he laps me. however, there are a few guys who are 1 to 1.5 seconds faster than behram on a fairly regular basis. so dont count these spec 911's out.

Got it!

Hey, yes, the track is faster since it was paved late in '06. earlier on, it was faster than it is now, but 1 second for the slower cars like us and 2 seconds for the real fast cars like WCGT. based on their times before and after the paving in all sessions. I think my car is a yard stick for that, and I immediately picked up 1 second . 1:40.1 to 1:39.2, and eventually with some changes and years later, 1:38.8. I see your point about B.Soonwalla, he has gotten real fast lately, and think he can hang with Rich now, but we will see. Still, dont think that they will be under 1:39s in the near future, but you never know. maybe 1:38s are in the cards! . Im hearing great things about the V710s as they might even be faster than the hoosiers!

We will see how everyone does at Sears on friday, and the weekend and of course, during our big weekend at Laguna again mid Sept.

I ran 1:44's on my first day out with my new spec 911. The RA-1 were shaved to 4/32'd which turned out to be way to conservative. They had no grip. Rich had to replace a broken CV joint, which meant that we lost a couple of sessions. I was able to run the afternoon. Our goal was to test the car for reliability and to start to tune the handling. I had never driven a spec 911 before this event, but was quite happy with how fun these cars are to drive. We'll see what I can do.
