Last year I ran 1:42.3 at laguna in my heavy, improved class 996 car. I'll find out what the spec 996 does in a few weeks.

My 2.5 liter 914-6 on race slicks was running high 1:41.X to low 1:42.X at Laguna Seca. Working on getting my Boxster to similar range. My stock powered 2650 lb 2.5 liter Boxster on DOT R's was running around 1.46 to 1.47 but it should be much faster now since it has lost 400 lbs and gained race slicks.

An interesting data point: 996GT3, I believe pretty stock but for Hoosiers (Mooty would know more) at Laguna: 1:37.8.

I won't post the name because I haven't cleared that with him.

Yes that car is stock except for 4.0 ring/pinion i believe. He is consistently fast. He also got a 1:47.xx at infineon which is completely nuts for a car that weighs 3200 lbs without the driver.

My gt3 has motons and my best was 1:36.8. Yes, motons do make a difference.

oh, and the car is for sale

Sounds like the yellow one I followed around LS at those speeds. Nice guy, but AFAIK he's not on here.

Is he still around? I haven't seen him lately.

thats a great lap just motons? Just think , WCGT race times with the GT3 cup car and the motor sport up grade hot rod motor, only run 1:32s in the race.
what does your car weigh dave? Are you faster than when you were at t-hill with me? At laguna, I have no shot at a 1:36 right now, until i get my push solved.

Hi thanks. The car weighs 3,395 lbs with me in it and a quarter tank according to my latest corner-weight. The car is definitely faster than that last t-hill event but i think mostly due to tire choice. kumhos are faster than mpsc in my limited experience with them.

thats viper heavy!
nice job!

ive heard great things of the kumos. when scotty white and cindy lux came to laguna in their vipers, they were running them with us. they seemed to stick like glue. in the pits, while my tires were all skinned and dry, theirs looked like wet black bed liner paint and real sticky to the touch. (heavy cars running 1:38s that day)

Kumho 710's are comparable in many ways to a Hankook Z214 or a HoosierMomma. Much grippier tire overall thhan an MPSC for many cars.
