Frankly, I do not remember but I assume (not confirmed) that for this year you will need to win the National Championship in one of the GT classes.

Feel free to reach out to the National Chair for more info. His email is on the PCA Club Racing Website.

I believe you're looking at $30k/weekend (assuming you're renting the car - which is now a six figure sum).

BUT the Spec MX5 series (on the NC chassis) that Matt and I were talking about is much, much less ... on par with a PCA weekend for those who run Hoosiers.
I just built a SMX car in my garage. Took me about 6 months. Total cost was around $55k but I did everything new. Probably could build one for $40k on the cheap. I like that you can run all weekend on 1 set of tires and parts are cheap. Will be running it some next year in the series. I also run mx5 cup some as well. Mazda has done a great job and their support is as good or better than anyone. They are fun cars to race and relatively cheap to fix.

This was done for the first two seasons of the PCA ClubSport Pirelli Challenge in 2016-2017 with the 981 ClubSport.

I'm heading down this road too ... looking for a donor, will build it up slowly over the next year

I don't see how Porsche allowing people to buy their cars equates to support of PCA club racing. I'm not specifically in the know as to how much money PCNA gives to PCA, but I see the way Sprint Challenge and Carrera Cup are run, so you can tell that is where the bulk of their race support funds go.

the cars are intended for use in PCA Club Racing. That will be a substantial increase in D-3. I don't know the overall incremental increase in Club racing participation due to the sales but expect it's a net positive. Not saying it's a big deal but it's something. In my experience PMRSI is a good resource. PMNA parts and Tech Support have been helpful too. Agree their main focus is on other series.

So while we're discussing 'decline in PCA racing', how about a bunch of you sign up for CMP and reverse the 'decline'.
It's a good race, run by good people, on a great 'racing' track. Lots of good places to pass and set up passes.
And we have free Beer!

Come on, get on it. NOW!

WTF. Last time I looked those up during covid they were like 70k CAD which was in the 50s USD. I don't see where the 100k goes for a ND2 miata cup car. I'm guessing they make 40k in profit off those things :/

Have you built a car recently?

Since 2017-2018: Fuel cells=double, Sadev gearboxes=+60%, tires=+35%, brakes=+30%, hardware=+25% and it goes on.

$100K is not that much for a tightly controlled, manufacturer backed spec series car. Resale is pretty good too.

Its not that much if your wealth also doubled - for most it didnt hence people not racing.

I was shocked at the costs when I thought about coming back to even SPB.

Labor wages are so high. Saw indi shop getting 275 an hr recently, its sub 100 still in europe.

Way cheaper to just go to EUR and race

Heck, even Euro GT4 is way cheaper than American GT4. It's nuts

No I haven't thankfully but am sorta aware of price increases of things car and race related.

For a comparison a Rush cost similar to a ND2 MX5 but only went up maybe 10-15k? 99k for a mx5 gives a vibe that its priced at that because they can not because they need to.

That's true of so many price increases in so many different categories. Yay capitalism.

But the Sadev box did add some legit $$ increases along the way ...
