Why yes, yes I do.
PCA is good. The PCA is good.
I may be a bit confused here, but I know safe serious fun when I see it, and I see it in PCA and its sister club The PCA.
what I think is that we are talking about 2 separate clubs, but both are great.
Hope that clears things up.

I had a cheap NASCAR roadrace platform. If you have a shop that can help you with all the "odd" things that are, well, ODD to those of us who have driven road cars for decades, it's great. I had zero shop support and sold it after I did a shake down run. Those NASCAR based cars "look" good on paper, but man they're HUGE and the brakes and tires both require a LOT of heat to be effective.
Seems like Value Appreciation is also the enemy, the 15000 dollar Porsche's from 10 to 20 years ago are now 100K .... Harder not to cry if you screw up.
And other marques have stepped up, there are a lot of cheaper cars out there that are fun on a track day.
A 5 year old nascar road race chassis pre rule change with a decent crate motor is attractive for easy cheep maintenance and you still pop 160 on a straight..

Reminds me of the heated debate when Spec C5 was a topic and all the T1 guys who were not competitive in C5s got up in arms.

Members of The PCA are recruited from the human race. At times, I find myself reflecting on the club slogan thusly: "Sometimes it is the cars." There's a huge gulf between sharing an interest and sharing values. The PCA does attract Type A-holes who are overly committed to their self-image. Forget new classes, let them have their own run group.
Pontification aside, I've been disappointed at times and positively surprised at times. Overall, it's been a very good experience since I got my first P-car 20+ years ago and thought "That track stuff sounds fun."

If you're chatting to a bunch of PCA friends having fun and someone comes up and says your door decals are spaced incorrectly and it would be better if you used a different font they're probably from 'The PCA'

I think of PCA as where the fun is, and 'The PCA' as it's bureaucratic life sapping wing .

This is PCA at its finest and why I love it so much.
It may be the cars, but to me, it’s mostly the people. Yes, THE cars and THE people. Can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be right now and I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather be with.
I just can’t see how this sucks (because it doesn’t). This is the club I fell in love with and the region that got it all started for me to begin with.
It doesn’t suck. It never does.
PCA, The PCA, makes no difference to me.
I love this chit!!!

You mean you have $hitty taste in music as well?
I remember enjoying a meal and some drinks with him outside in Winchester, VA and there was a guy with a guitar playing songs and the whole time Spencer kept yelling "hey now!" which is some hippy dippy Grateful Dead slang to play one of their $hitty songs.
Thankfully the guy did not oblige.
