Still do, AFAIK.

I know that driver! Finally did get a PCA race license by dutifully following and obeying the rules. (Ironic because his nice RSR got hassled and finally wrecked at his first race, by drivers who could care less about PCA rules.)

PCA was requiring an IMSA and SCCA professional race driver with a 12 hr Sebring 1st place finish to follow the same protocol to obtain a PCA license as an amateur race drive.
I think the 'root cause' of this situation is PCA treated Luigi poorly and was unreasonable in its demand for CPAP data immediately, else his active license would be revoked, but then Luigi's strategy for dealing with that unreasonable attitude was unlikely to get his desired result. PCA had the power to do what it wanted, but it kind of abused that power, as leaders in PCA sometimes do.

I'm out of energy at this point.

Reasonable people can disagree about PCA's policies regarding reporting of CPAP usage and the medical committee's ability to overrule a driver's doctor. Reasonable people can also disagree about the interpretation of PCA's rules.

What I have said from the start is that I was treated in a disrespectful manner, from the initial conversation with the medical committee, all the way to the two sentence response to my whistleblower letter.

While I was hopeful for a result which agreed with my position, that was not my requirement. All I wanted was to be treated fairly, and with respect, and I don't know how any reasonable person could think that happened.

I agree with most of this post. None of us were there, but it seems like the situation was not handled very tactfully at the start. That said, respect and constructive discussion are a two-way street -- and once those things are gone, it's not going to be constructive. I think many of the posts in this thread made the situation far worse. Whatever ire resulted from the initial discussion, was amplified and multiplied by posts that were more focused on pouring fuel on a dumpster fire than in giving Luigi constructive advice to help resolve it. Dumpster fire discussions can be fun and harmless when it is a remote situation that nobody really cares about, or is directly involved in -- but that's not the situation here. Constructive advice was needed, and I don't think it was given. Hoping the flames won't be fanned again and that Luigi will be back on track soon.

This kind of thing is so silly and definitely causes PCA to miss out on qualified drivers who would run individual races between other series.

Very different philosophies between for-profit enterprises and not-for-profit.
NASA wants you to come race, and encourages it. Perhaps allowing some lesser qualified individuals out on track...
BMWCCA, and I suspect PCA (The PCA?) demand to know if you're worthy enough to come race with them. Evidently (and arbitrarily, it seems...) excluding some well qualified racers. While probably allowing those lesser ones more comfortable kissing asses.
