Re: Whistle Blower Complaint
Dear Aaron,
I wish to avail myself of the whistle blower protections afforded to all Porsche Club of America (hereinafter “PCA”) members in good standing, pursuant to Section III, Part 10 of the PCA Manual of National Policy and Procedures (hereinafter “MNPP”), dated September 13, 2023.
My general allegation is that various members of PCA leadership have violated PCA’s Rules of Governance, including the Code of Ethics, and have taken retaliatory actions against me.

I am confident in my well researched position but I am not confident in PCA's transparency. There is a tendency for PCA to circle its wagon when someone pushes back as I have done. Time will tell whether they do the right thing.
I'm waiting for PCA to respond but have reserved my right to make some or all of my letter public, which I may do at a future point. For now, I will let what amounts to the wheels of justice within the PCA organization start to turn. My complaint most likely means that I will not be racing with PCA for a while and am still deciding whether I will stay involved with my region. My loyalty is with CVR so stepping back from my involvement with them is particularly painful.
What a colossal waste of time and energy for something which is supposed to be a fun hobby which I am passionate about. However, because I think PCA is a great organization, but which has drifted from what its governance provides, I hope some positive changes can come. In short, I hope to remind PCA National that PCA is about its members - something I think they have forgotten.
I appreciate everyone's support and hope you make your views known to PCA leadership. Many thanks!

In short, I allege that the PCA President, Club Race Chair, General Counsel, and Chair of the Medical Committee (to the extent there is a properly formed and authorized Medical Committee) have all violated PCA's governance rules.

You know that somehow they will figure out a way to make it appear like this whole mess is completely all your fault. Or maybe they thank you and reward you with a "Treffen At Sea Cruise".

All they had to say is "Ok, you have OSA and are using a CPAP, thank you for confirming. You are medically approved to race." Instead, an arrogant and unqualified volunteer doctor has been allowed to dictate decision-making by volunteer 'leaders' who have been acting like bureaucrats who care only about formal role in the bureaucracy and paper trails, rather than making sensible decisions. It's really a shame. I can understand some bad decisions being made here and there at the region level, but for this to happen at the national level is really disappointing. PCA is supposed to be better than this, a LOT better.

The choices being made are bad for the hobby, broadly described as driving a car on a race track for pleasure, whether it be racing, time trialing, or simple lapping days/HPDE.
Certain choices can have outsized effects, and this can be one of those spots. The failure to be a good steward of the hobby is what irks me.

There are so many good stewards of racing and cars on Rennlist, in PCA, and around race tracks that this event really mars it for PCA IMHO.

I think this statement is really poignant. This is a hobby for most everyone here and is supposed to be fun. Heck, Manny Alban was often heard sayin "PCA is just a *@*#$*# car club." In that exact vain, it's crazy that a member is locked out of racing there car for something as crazy as claiming they will fall asleep in a race. It's even more crazy to think that in a DE it would be fine, but they say it's not for racing.

And Club Race Sponsor, Instructor, Track Chair, and a ton of other stuff for his region. And despite all the flack I give him on RL for being a lawyer, he is a good guy and really helps to bring new people into PCA and motorsports. He is one of the good ones.
