Not surprising.

I’m a bit surprised that Colapinto is taking the seat for the remainder of the season when there are lots of other seemingly good options. I’d expect Antonelli or Schumacher to be in the mix for that seat.

Or Lawson. Never heard of Colapinto.

I thought the chatter was that Red Bull gave the green light and Liam Lawson was going step in for the remainder of the season.

Well, he was in the Williams Driver Academy, so makes sense. I guess give him a shot and see what he can do.

Maybe they should have brought back Goatifi!

I believe they had very limiting clauses in the trade that Williams didn't see as advantageous, including not a guarantee for the entire balance of the season. Example, if Sergio continues to suck and Red Bull wanted to replace him, they wanted to have the ability to pull Lawson back and put him on either Red Bull or RB.

LOLLLLL I can't stop laughing and looking at the "formula retirement" photo..... There's a couple of Santa Claus's in there, Lewis kind of resembles Ron Jeremy and Checo a bit like Saddam Hussien, at least they all have most of their hair.

It’s not like Colapinto has been lighting up F2 this season either, and I would have thought that getting Lawson in the car to try and get maximum points for the team by year’s end, and the resulting cash given how much Carbon Fibre and the mechanical bits have cost the team this year from Sargent’s ‘offs’, would have been a priority.

I wonder if Colapinto is able to bring big sponsorship money to the team to help defer both driver’s salaries?

Nine races left.. when in doubt, follow the money trail... it has to be the amount of money he can bring to Williams in these 9 races because it's not like he has any shot at that team for the next 2-3 years with Albon and Sainz locked in.

I’d be surprised if he’s bringing much money to the table. And reading about his history coming up through the ranks, he was always held back by the lack of any sponsorship or significant money. He sure didn’t get money from his family.

I think Colapinto ran the Williams car in a practice session earlier this year. It will be interesting to see if he does any better than Sargeant.

If the reason that Lawson isn’t driving for Williams this weekend is because Horner wanted Vowles to agree that Lawson could be recalled back to RBR quickly, I’d be really worried about that if I were Perez!

If I were Perez, I don't know if I'd be worried...
Already, every day he wakes up, he must just be amazed that he still has a ride.
