I was thinking that it functions more like brake assisted turning.

This analogy is crazy, but I have a 1945 IH Farmall A tractor and there are two brake pedals. When you want to make a tight turn you hit only one pedal and the tractor rotates on that wheel.

I'm thinking this right to left brake bias allows RBR to turn their car more efficiently.

At about 4mins in Gary Anderson discusses the specific issues as well as some technology from the 80s and 90s that was similar. Continues for about 10 mins.

Currently the rules state there must be equal pressure from the braking system, left and right, on the pads. So probably was closing a loophole vs being innovative. At about 9 mins explains why closed, and speculation it came from movement in the paddock, as people/engineers have changed teams.

i'm not sure if anyone has seen these images yet, but it functions as a simple spring loaded valve. if the car is turning left, the valve moves to the right, opening the left side (inner wheel) of the T allowing more pressure to the left brake. simple but effective apparently.

Seems like that would induce inside-wheel lockup?
Maybe that's only used on the rear brakes...
Plumb one in reverse for the F?
Also seems like that could be done electronically through the BBW, but still skirt the 'no ABS' rule.

i screwed up my valve movement initially. if the car is turning left, the valve moves to the right allowing more pressure to the left (inner) wheel enhancing turning ability.

There are some smart bastards in F1. If those same engineers were running a NASCAR team, the ‘cheating’ would be off the charts; and no one would ever know! lol

Russell knew he was "light" on driver weight before Spa F1 disqualification

“I knew before the race I was a little bit light, but it was too late to make a substantial change without eating a steak or something! Which was probably not the best pre-race routine.

“But there are things that now, with the benefit of hindsight, we can do better and we will be doing better moving forwards. As always, you need to make a mistake first [before] you recognise there’s a problem.” https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/ru...tion/10646514/

That pre-race "comfort break" where they supposedly "had a $hit" according to Kimi's famous line, might have been the difference... LOL

They typically lose 3-5 pounds of water in a race. I've had bowel movements that I would swear are 4-5x that weight.

it was starting to get too technical and erudite in here, thanks for getting things back on track.

But as someone who loses 5 lbs. of water weight on a regular basis and also experiences daily BM's, no on the latter being 4-5x weight. You're just being prideful. Surface area can be deceptive.

Perhaps something a little more 'weighty'....

At least they don't need to take Haas-a-Spin back as part of the deal.

I thought it was the car that was underweight. It doesn’t matter if George ate a horse before the race, he still would have been underweight.

They should have thrown a couple of wrenches on the seat after the race. Or accidentally spilled some water in the cockpit.

Reports are that Toto held summer talks with Max regarding a 2025 drive. Toto is also set to announce Kimi Antonelli will drive for Mercedes in 2025. Perhaps the die is cast for Max to possibly move over to Merc in 2026? Sounds like George might be odd man out if that happens.

I swear Sargeant has the poorest throttle instincts of any professional driver I've ever watched. F1 or any other categories. Believe @ProCoach calls it the go / no go filter. His seems fully broken.

Bro, you are currently lighting up the rears and definitely headed for the grass. Yep, still headed for the wet grass. Maybe lift? Because you're headed for the grass. No? ok.

So many of his crashes are this exact scenario, a slow developing, avoidable, total loss of control.
