That was a pretty nice drive, for a washed-up has been....

I thought the radio message to Norris Re: Soft V. Medium was leaving tire choice up to him? Maybe I misinterpreted.
Other than Ferrari, a team would have alot more information to make that call... I was stunned when he went out on softs.

We'll all give Lewis his due this weekend - it was a great race.

Tomorrow we go back to talking about how he wears dresses.

He no longer wears dresses. Since signing with Ferrari, he’s been much more stylish and hitting all the right notes with the fashistas in Milano.

One has to give credit to Lewis for the race win, that’s the bottom line but a lot had to go right for him like his teammate dropping out and McLaren screwing up their strategy on multiple occasions. That’s two races in a row McLaren should have won, but both George and Lewis were there to pick up the pieces.

Perhaps we are witnessing the difference between teams that know how to win and have won in recent years (RB Mercedes) and teams that just aren’t used to being up front (McLaren, Ferrari).

As the race was unfolding, I couldn’t help but wonder if McLaren is so favoring Lando that Oscar is completely overlooked. Not stacking the two cars was just one of the biggest mistakes I’ve seen followed by tire choice.

Overall, good race with uncertainty all around and virtually a lottery on what the finishing order would be.

Lewis told Lando where they went wrong…

What Lewis Hamilton said to Lando Norris in Silverstone cooldown room:

Lewis Hamilton told Lando Norris that he believed Norris and McLaren had made a mistake in their final stint during the British Grand Prix. Rain showers at Silverstone led to several lead changes and the necessity for intermediate tires. Ultimately, the battle for victory came down to a three-way contest between Hamilton, Norris, and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

As the three drivers headed to the cooldown room, Hamilton began questioning a downcast Norris about their strategy.

“You on soft as well?” Hamilton asked Norris, adding: “But you had two new mediums?”

“I know,” Norris replied.

“Yeah, you could have gone to the medium,” Hamilton responded, “a new medium would have been faster probably.”

I agree that poor strategy choices probably cost McLaren a potential 1/2 today, but Lewis had George's number once the rain started as 1: Lewis is just a better poor weather driver than George is, yet, and 2: Lewis and his engineer chose to go with a higher downforce configuration. Once the weather turned to ****e, Lewis ate up George.

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a good win for Lewis, it was a great win for him.

After seeing the McLaren strategy, I think Binotto is back.

+1 He's got to be relieved after going 945 days winless, plus he gets a new record at his home GP.

Some of the best, if not the best, racing of the season and most of it occurred without DRS. Makes ya wonder....

I am not a Lewis fan at all, but it was actually good to see him win. Mainly because it’s been now, what, 6 different winners this year? Awesome season.
Why is Perez still at RB? $$$$$$$$
I want him to do well. Not a RB fan but I usually root for the #2 driver…

Lol 😂 Binotto got on the Ferrari bus after Monaco and hasn’t got off. Putting LEC on inters when it was still dry was perhaps the most head scratching move of the weekend.
