Default New 'glas rec'd from GT-Racing

Just have to post, because I'm so excited - just received my new 'glas fenders from Hank today... only ordered them Tuesday last week... and they look lovely! Very light and clean, they're gonna look sharp!

Now I just have to figure out how to move the rubber 6" out on each side... I mean, spacers are one thing, but the whole car's gonna be a foot wider! Sweet! Pics shall be forthcoming...

(no, this isn't for the ITA car)

you could always do what I did and put an '87 '44 turbo suspension under it. What are you doing to widen the the rear fenders?

Is it 944 Widebody or just a 944 body?

If it is just a 944 body use 944 23.3 mm offset wheels.

It's a 924 Carrera GTR body; far wider than the 944 bodywork or 951. It's designed for 9's up front, 11's in the rear. Compared to late-offset 944 rims, there's about 6" to grow outward on the rear, 4" on the front. The early-offset cookies are the best, but still not even close to the fenders.

The late suspension is somewhat tempting, but then I've got those stupid alloy arms to deal with. I think I'm going to go the factory route, sort of a hybrid GTS/GTR, the cheapest way.

when I put the GTS rear flares on mine I was a little disapointed in the limited amount they added. With the late suspension I just fit the 951S 9" rear rims with 245/45 16 P0C's and 8" BBS with the new 245/45 16 S04 Hosiers. It took a fair amount of grinding on the flares to barely get a 1/4" of clearance.

Yeah, I don't think those are any bigger than the GT flares, are they? Don't look it.

Here's what I'm doing:

You can see there's a little more room.

Very nice, the GT/GTS flares barely give as much room as stock 944 fenders, had I known I probably would have gone with the "LeMans" boxed rear quaters that you're using. Best of luck with the project.

Here's pics of the actual stuff I took, on my IT car. Yes, you would've been better off with this setup. Hey, it's never too late to change!

Dang...
... Now you just need a motor big to push those big fenders and tire through the air!

Stock motor, but these'll go on my 931, so 2.0L I4 turbo. Power output will be whatever it takes to keep me from busting through into GTSU.
