Sorry if that came off rude, I don’t suffer trolls well.
GTD was the old (maybe current) class in PCA Club Racing for factory built FIA GT4 cars, 981 GT4 ClubSport, MR cars and perhaps the 718 GT4 CS. Similar to GS trim, different tires (slower).

In IMSA GS, Jan Heylen ran a 2:12.7 last November.

IMSA GTD cars run 2:02's at Sebring, they are based on FIA GT3 spec.

GT-4, a PCA Club Racing class, typically is represented at the front by old, air-cooled 911's in the same kind of trim as IMSA forty years ago, but with bigger motors and big *****.

It can be confusing, I know.

On topic, though, Leh was doing lap times similar to the GTD cars (that's GT4 Clubsport class for those that don't know). That is hauling the mail in a 1970 911. Watching guys wheel an older car like that I find amazing and fascinating.
I'm to tall to be a troll. However, you do do snarky well. Thanks to the rest for taking the time to edumacate me. I'm still trying to memorize every single class, across every single series

Considering that GT4 CSs were also racing at the event maybe you could've chosen a better title for your thread instead of relying on interweb telepathy.

They can run in GT3 too.....at least I have raced against them with them listed as GT3 on the entry sheet and the results sheet.

Seriously. I looked at the event pics to find the car Leh was driving, out of curiosity. From the pics, looks like not full slicks, and not even particularly wide tires ...

In the mid '70s our 911 3.0 RSRs ran in FIA Group 4. I have no idea what speeds we ran through turns at Sebring because we pulled our speedometers, but from records, Gregg ran 226 laps at an avg speed of 97.9 mph when he won the '73 12hr, in his 2.8 RSR. In '76 Holbert won averaging 99.7 mph (230 laps) in a 3.0 RSR and I won at 101.3 mph (234 laps) in '77 in my 3.0 RSR.
We ran on the old 5.2 mile circuit. I do remember turn one was flat in 5th, the hairpin was very tight and very slow and that airplanes were taking off and landing right next to us on the north-south straight.

The current PCA class GT-4 allows a larger motor, less weight, much more modifications allowed, more aero (by a substantial factor) than the old FIA Group 4 rules, which makes your achievement that much greater, in my mind.

Turn 1 on the 5.2-mile course is very different than the current track. The exit of the old Turn 1 ended up on the current Turn 14 entry! So I can see that! Great stuff.

Not confused, you are talking IMSA pro-class GTD and I am talking PCA club race class GTD - ProCoach explained this as well and probably better. I also checked times for GTD1 and GTD2 at Sebring (still talking PCA in case I lost you). They ran 2:16's and 2:17's.

Gee, let me guess. You got "air cooled" from the title right away. Your telepathy is amazing.
