My 930 popped a head stud last winter and has been sitting since. I do miss driving her and practicing heel and toe; however when I get garage time, I walk right past her to work on the 911 racecar.

You Baltimore guys need to get out of the city, there are some nice rides between Monkton, Jarrettsville, and Street.

Too funny... Had a similar thought recently when I realized I haven't washed my 981 GTS in a couple months and I didn't care. ;-)

I missed having a fun street car. Bought an e36 m3 sedan with a 5 speed that I have refurbished/tweaked as needed. I can have fun on the street with it without breaking the law, which is nice. It might be on the way out as my gf just bought a 718 that is taking up space in my garage. That car is pretty fun too!

I kinda feel the that way about de vs. racing. Racing is so much more fun! And I am just dipping my toes in with WRL endurance racing.

Nah. But I have the great privilege to drive a LOT of race cars on track throughout the year. This one isn't my daily driver, but she does get out on the track a couple of times a year:

Completely lost interest in street cars... Main problem is traffic, there is no open road anywhere in my day to day routine. Only time I see open road is if I take time off and go look for it.

DD is my suv/tow vehicle..

I am in process of selling my street cars. Bought an F250 for tow/dog/adventure duty and like many am impressed by what it can do. I'm also so happy to never worry about potholes or avoiding curbing my wheels, etc. Plus the 7 year 125k mile warranty was so cheap it's ridiculous. I have lost interest in driving fussy cars on a daily basis.

Focus RS is DD. Had a new GT4 and 15 GT3 and both usually had A7s for autocross. So I was able to get a second GT4 just for street driving. It got stuck deep inside my garage. When you have to move a car to get to a car it takes some of the fun out.

It's interesting, I find the notion of driving a highly capable car on the street kinda like 'what's the point' - If I drive it like I want to or as some may say - as it wants to be driven, I will end up in jail or worse. That said, I don't want to drive junk, but a 600HP fire-breathing, track suspension car on the street just makes me want to go to the track...

I have a 944 with a half cage which was my DE car and is still street legal. After sitting in my garage, only to be used a few times a year, I am having new suspension and seats installed, and having everything given the once over so I can drive it on the street more and also the occasional DE.

It has Martini race livery and the cops pull me over all the time just to make sure I am street legal. I was pulled over lights and sirens in my daughter's high school parking lot once so that was a lot of fun!

I had a 996TT that was a spectacular car, got all kinds of attention due to being cobalt blue and just beautiful. Eventually, I couldn't care less about it. All I thought about was the race car. That was a number of year ago and never really had a desire for another street Porsche. But last fall I surprisingly won an auction for this 1975 RSR tribute street car and have found my passion for the street again. It's loud, uncomfortable, hot and generally difficult to drive....and I loooove it. It's as analog as you can get, no power anything, no radio and no heat/AC. It's basically a racer for the street and despite having relatively low power, it's just an absolute blast.

Nope, because my DD street car is a 996 GT3. I don't care if its in traffic or back country roads, I would MUCH rather drive that than the tow vehicle (F250 7.3 diesel).

Last year my 89 911 for which i spent a whole Summer installing a 95 3.6 went out of my race trailer in which it was stored for the Winter and onto the side of the house , then back in the trailer for Winter storage ...
This year it is out of the trailer again and i have yet to drive the car out of the yard ... i've owned it for ten years and have over 60K invested so far and have done 0 miles in the last two years.

Since i started racing a 944 , it seems i don't have time for the 911 anymore , which is pretty sad as i did DE's for 7-8 years with it before buying a dedicated race car.
My girlfriend is really pushing to get it back on the road this Summer, so that is currently in the works after i change some cv boots and change the fluids !
