I'll be back this year to get my track record back in E.
Evan was very unsportsmanlike last year taking the record while my cars were on their way to Rennsport.

Oh, and our buddy Dan Martinson is coming with his E car. Maybe we can get Mark Hupfer???

Some nice class battles shaping up! I love it!

The Erin Levitas Foundation (www.erinlevitasfoundation.org) will be our charity partner again this year. TPC Racing (www.tpcracing.com) and Wilfre Mechanical Services (http://wilfre.net) have funded the Kona Shave Ice Truck for both Saturday and Sunday! (yet another reason to bring all your family and friends) The guy I deal with is awesome, and if for some reason it is unseasonably cold, we will switch to hot cocoa and cider.

For any driver's out there that REALLY like to have a spectacular event and also like for the volunteers to be treated really well, contact me if you want to be a sponsor. We are firming up the sponsor list on July 31st.

I called our contact at the hotel. Yes, our "block" is sold out. Plenty of other hotels in the area though. There is a wedding party that is holding 30 rooms at the hotel but they have only booked 7 so far. He will release any leftovers from that block to us around August 20th, but that is not a guarantee, so make a back-stop reservation.

Also - remember that camping is allowed at Summit Point and both large restrooms have shower facilities. You could always book an RV at www.outdoorsy.com.

Rent an RV and stay at the track. Much better than hotels which are not close by. Friday and Saturday are both big eating and DRINKING nights at the track. There is nothing else anywhere near so everyone stays late. Might as well sleep there.

Have they expanded the paddock yet?

Sadly, not yet... but races occur here with 60 more participants than we normally have without issue. We do a really good job (I think) of managing the space in the paddock and communicating the plan in advance. The following questions will be on the racer registration page. Try to give us the best info you can for your current best guess state and our Paddock Marshal will make assignments as appropriate. Sponsor requests do get priority.

Each registrant is entitled to a single paddock spot (most are approximately 55x20 paved or grass). Volunteer Paddock Marshal will try to honor the requests below, but not all requests will be accommodated. Racers will receive paddock map one-week prior to the event.
  1. Do you need access to power? (Possible Answers: 30 Amps, 50 Amps, No Power Needed)
  2. If you wish to paddock with specific other participants or a shop that is supporting you, please list their names/shop name here:
  3. If you have a personal enclosed trailer/motorhome that you will need to have access to in the paddock, please provide approximate size here: (open text field)
  4. Please provide details of any other (size/amenities/location) special requests here: (open text field)
And please, by all means, advocate for a larger paddock with the track itself. We are. They have done a fair amount of planning already, but they just need to budget for it and get it on the schedule. Hopefully within the next few years. (fingers crossed)

You do and everybody pretty much fits but if everyone brought an RV it would get really interesting. The way it is it looks like a giant Chinese finger puzzle when everybody rolls in Thursday night. The changes that they have made for safety have all been great and that's where they should have focused when they did. I'm sure they will get there
One more reason to get in on the track sponsored T&T day on Thursday. Can't wait, It's my favorite event of the year.
